EYE ON THE TIGERS
If you won't be making the road trip through the Empire State this weekend, you can follow along in multiple ways. Both matches will be streamed live on the Ivy League Digital Network (subscription required), and both schools will have live stats available (see links above).
THE RACE IS ON
Princeton currently stands in third place with a 5-3 Ivy League record. The two teams in front of the Tigers are Yale (7-1) and Harvard (6-2). Those two teams will play Saturday in New Haven. Dartmouth (4-4) is one match behind Princeton, and will also play the frontrunning Bulldogs this weekend (Friday, 7).
30 FOR 30
Junior Kendall Peterkin recorded a career-best 30 kills last weekend in a 25-17, 21-25, 25-19, 25-19 win over Penn. Peterkin hit .424 and added seven digs and two blocks in the victory. That performance earned her a league-best fifth Ivy League Player of the Week honor.
A PERFECT 10
For the first time all season, Peterkin cracked the national Top 10 in points per set; she now averages 5.35 per set, ninth-most in the NCAA. She also moved to 13th overall in kills per set (4.63) in the NCAA.
HIGH EFFICIENCY
Senior Nicole Kincade, who ranks sixth in the Ivy League in attack percentage, had one of her best weekends the first time Princeton met Columbia and Cornell. Over the two matches, Kincade recorded 23 kills with only one error, and she added seven blocks in the pair of wins.
SETTING THE TABLE
Sophomore Lauren Miller continues to lead the Ivy League in assists this season; she averages 10.7 per set this year. Columbia setter Jennifer Petrovich is third in the league with just over 9.5 assists per set.
CAN YOU DIG IT?
Junior Sarah Daschbach has moved to third in the Ivy League with 4.47 digs per set. One of the two liberos she is chasing will be across the net Saturday, as Cornell's Natasha Rowland currently leads the league with 5.56 digs per set.
THE CRYSTAL BALL
If Princeton can take care of business in New York, it would set up a potentially huge final home weekend Nov. 7-8. The Tigers will host both Harvard (Nov. 7, 7 pm) and Dartmouth (Nov. 8, 5 pm) during their final home matches of the season. Princeton lost to both teams on the road during their first meetings.
