PRINCETON VS. MICHIGAN GAME NOTES
PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Blake Dietrick of the Princeton University women's basketball team has been named the Ivy League Co-Player of the Week after helping the Tigers to an 83-54 victory over Georgetown University.
Picking up her second Player of the Week honor, Dietrick poured in a game-high 26 points against the Hoyas, knocking down 10 of her 18 field goal attempts while going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line. Also dishing out six assists, she finished just two points shy of matching her career-high of 28 set against Yale on Feb. 15, 2014.
Dietrick was also named the Ivy Co-Player of the Week on Nov. 24 after averaging 15.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 6.5 assists in a pair of wins over Drexel and American.
Princeton has now laid claim to each of the first four Ivy POTW awards of the season, with Michelle Miller and Annie Tarakchian having already earned recognition on Nov. 17 and Dec. 1, respectively. The Tigers also accomplished the feat during the 2010-11 campaign.
One of the team's co-captains, Dietrick currently leads the Ivy League in assists per game (4.6) while sitting third in three-point shooing percentage (44.2). She is also tied for fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.8) and is eighth in points per game (13.9).
For her efforts, Dietrick was also named the CollegeSportsMadness.com Ivy Player of the Week. She is the second Tiger to be honored by the site this season, joining Miller, who nabbed POTW honors after averaging 18.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in a pair of victories over Pitt and Duquesne.
Off to the best start in Ivy League history, Princeton (8-0) returns to action against Michigan on Tuesday, Dec. 9.
