Track & Field Competes at Three Meets This Weekend

The Princeton men's and women's track & field teams will split off to compete in three different meets this weekend.

Princeton is one of eight schools that will compete against Penn State at the Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup at the Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track at the Indoor Multi-Sport Facility. Competing teams also include Binghamton, Buffalo, UConn, James Madison, Liberty, Penn and UNC Wilmington. Heat sheets are not yet available.

Princeton will send triple jumpers Damon McLean and Imani Oliver to the Armory Collegiate Invitational presented by NYRR. Oliver is slated to compete in the first flight of the women's triple at 1:35 p.m., on Saturday. McLean's is in the only flight of the men's triple at 2:30 p.m., the same afternoon.

The men's team will also send some of its middle distance and distance runners to the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University on Saturday. Tigers are expected to compete in the 800, 1k, 3k, 5k and mile. The 800 is the only event in the morning at 11:55 p.m., with Bradley Paternostro and Jamie Fehrnstrom in the entries. Michael Williams and Sam Pons are listed as entrants in the mile beginning at 4:05 p.m. Chris Bendtsen and Pons are ranked in the top 15 of the 3k entrants and would compete at 7:30 p.m. The remaining sections of the 3k, which include Alejandro Arroyo Yamin, Matt McDonald and George Galasso is at 7:55 p.m. Tyler Udland is listed as competing in the fast heat of the 5k at 7:40 p.m.
