Albuquerque, N.M. (3/14/14) - Senior Michael Williams capped off his indoor season with a 14th place finish at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Albuquerque this evening.
Williams was sixth in Heat 2 at 4:13. 07, missing out on qualifying for the final by two places.
A 2013 national champion in the distance medley relay, Williams will now focus on the outdoor season, which begins next weekend.
Williams is the seventh Tiger in program history to compete in for the national title in the mile. He joins Bill Burke, Scott Anderson, Mike Baird, David Nightingale, Michael Maag and Peter Callahan.
Williams clocked a 3:59.63 at the Valentine Invitational at Boston University to qualify for the NCAAs. The time is the third-best mile time in school history.
