The Tigers took a few minutes to get going Sunday against Rowan, but concurrent runs of 13-0 and 21-2 in the first half powered the Tigers to a 26-point halftime lead and a 48-point margin of victory in the annual post-finals non-Division I game. All 16 players in uniform got into the game and Princeton scored 58 bench points while starters accounted for only 44.5 percent of minutes played. The win was the 66th of Princeton head coach Mitch Henderson's career (both overall and with Princeton), tying him with predecessor and former Tiger teammate Sydney Johnson for eighth place. Freshman Aaron Young led Princeton with 15 points, a game-high total, while going 5 of 6 from 3-point range in nine minutes of play. |

• Friday night, one side will try to start a new streak while the other will aim to keep a nascent one going. Princeton defeated Harvard in Jadwin Gym 24 straight times from 1990-2013, but the Crimson ended that drought last year with a 59-47 win.
• Princeton will be on ESPNU for the second time this season. The Tigers were on against UTEP in their first game at the Wooden Classic in Fullerton, California on Nov. 27. Eamon McAnaney and Craig Robinson '83 will be on the call. McAnaney shares a high school alma mater with junior Hans Brase, The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Robinson is a two-time Ivy League Player of the Year winner, the first player to be honored twice since the award began for the 1974-75 season, and only four players - all from Princeton (Kit Mueller '91) or Penn (Jerome Allen, Ugonna Onyekwe, Ibrahim Jaaber) - have won it twice since. Robinson helped Princeton to three Ivy League titles (1980, 1981, 1983), two NCAA Tournaments (1981, 1983), and a Round of 32 appearance after upsetting fifth-seeded Oklahoma State in the Round of 64 in 1983. That game was played at Oregon State's Gill Coliseum, where Robinson went on to serve as head coach for six seasons. Robinson also spent six seasons alongside Mitch Henderson on Bill Carmody's staff at Northwestern from 2000-06. Robinson graduated as the third-leading scorer in program history with 1,441 points (now sixth), and his daughter Leslie plays on Princeton's 19th-ranked women's basketball team, wearing her father's uniform number, 45.
• Three of the last four Harvard at Princeton games have been on ESPNU, from 2011-13. In 2012, Princeton knocked off the AP's then-No. 25-ranked Crimson (also ranked No. 21 in the coaches poll), 70-62, giving Princeton its first win over an AP Top 25 team in Jadwin since 1977.
• It'll be back-to-back Princeton alumni coaches on ESPNU Friday night, with Sydney Johnson '97 and Fairfield facing Monmouth following Princeton's game against Harvard.
• Princeton and Yale enter the first full league weekend as the last two league-undefeated teams. Yale is 2-0 after a sweep of Brown and Princeton is 1-0 after defeating Penn on Jan. 10 in Jadwin. The Tigers and Bulldogs are two of just 15 Division I teams through Monday's games that were undefeated in conference play.
• Princeton started the season 1-5 and 3-8, but the team is 5-1 since that 3-8 start.
• Since coming to Harvard, Crimson coach Tommy Amaker is 6-9 against Princeton in his first seven seasons. Mitch Henderson is 2-4 against Harvard since coming to Princeton as head coach for the 2011-12 season. The results in Henderson's tenure have gone the home team's way in five of the six games, except for Harvard's last visit to Princeton.
• It sounds simple enough, but when the Tigers win, they've made shots, defended and gotten to the free throw line. Princeton has not done those things as well in losses. In wins, Princeton shoots .480 from the field and allows opponents .421, makes 10.5 3-pointers (.422) and allows 4.5 (.283), and averages 17 of 23 from the line while opponents average 9 of 15 from the free throw line. In losses, Princeton shoots .415 from the field but allows .452, makes eight 3-pointers and hits at a .349 clip while allowing seven but at a .465 clip, and averages 12 of 18 from the line while opponents average 19 of 27.
• Carril Court in Jadwin Gym has been kind to the Tigers this season, as Princeton is 7-1 at home with a six-game winning streak. Away from Jadwin, Princeton is 1-8, including 0-6 in true road games (Princeton went 1-2 at the Wooden Legacy over Thanksgiving weekend). The difference appears to be the defense. Princeton shoots a bit better at home, 45.2% to 43.8% from the field and 40% to 37% from 3, but opponents shoot 41.3% from the field in Jadwin and 46% away from Princeton. From 3, the difference is even bigger, as opponents average just 27.5% in Jadwin and 46.4% away from Princeton. Princeton also averages 74.5 ppg at home and 63.3 ppg on the road while opponents average 60.8 ppg in Jadwin and 70.3 ppg away from Princeton.
• The Tigers have turned the ball over fewer times than their opponents in six straight games after doing so only five times in the first 11 games. Perhaps not coincidentally, Princeton is 5-1 in the last six games.
• Princeton has made more 3-pointers than its opponent in 11 of 17 games this season. Princeton is 7-4 in those games but has won the last five, accounting for Princeton's last five wins.
• The change in year has been a positive change for the Tigers during Mitch Henderson's tenure. In the pre-New Year portion of Henderson's four seasons, the Tigers have a record of 27-25 for a .519 winning percentage. From New Year's Day forward, the Tigers under Henderson are 39-16 with a .709 winning percentage.
• Harvard returns 35 of its 59 points from its last meeting with Princeton a season ago, with the leading scorer from that game, Brandyn Curry (17), having graduated. Princeton returns 30 of its 47, with T.J. Bray '14 (17) also having graduated. Harvard's Siyani Chambers is the leading returning scorer from that game, having scored 13 points while adding eight assists as Harvard outshot Princeton from the field 44 percent to 34 percent. Princeton led by five at the half, 29-24, but saw Harvard outshoot Princeton 54 percent to 26 percent after the break and outscore Princeton 35-18.
• Dartmouth returns 16 of its 57 points from its last meeting with Princeton on Feb. 21, 2014 in Jadwin, while Princeton 41 of its 67 including three of its double-figure scorers, Spencer Weisz (11), Hans Brase (14) and Ben Hazel (12). Connor Boehm (11) and Wesley Dickinson (10) scored in double figures for Dartmouth.
• Princeton leads the Ivy in 3-point FG% (.384), 3s per game (9.3), turnover margin (+0.94/game) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.1), and defensive rebounding percentage (.732).
• Princeton's starting lineup went unchanged for 12 games before Steven Cook missed the Rowan game due to illness. That lineup included one junior (Hans Brase), three sophomores (Pete Miller, Spencer Weisz, Steven Cook) and one freshman (Amir Bell). Harvard has the experience advantage on Princeton, with Wesley Saunders, Steve Moundou-Missi and Kenyatta Smith all seniors and Siyani Chambers and Agunwa Okolie juniors. If Zena Edosomwan starts for Smith as he has done the past two games, he'd be the greenhorn in the lineup as a sophomore. The five Dartmouth players with the most starts have a similar level of experience to the recent Harvard lineups, with seniors John Golden and Gabas Maldunas, juniors Alex Mitola and Connor Boehm, and one rookie in freshman Miles Wright.
• Princeton is 8-4 when scoring 28 points by halftime and 0-5 when it does not. The Tigers are 6-1 when scoring at least 69 points and 2-8 when they do not. The Tigers are 7-3 when holding opponents below 67 points but 1-6 when foes reach 67, with Penn the one win for Princeton when the opponent reached 67.
• Princeton is 8-3 when holding opponents below 41 percent from 3-point range and 0-6 when opponents make at least 41 percent of their 3-point tries.
• The Tigers are 7-1 when getting at least 13 turnovers from opponents and 1-9 when opponents turn the ball over fewer than 13 times.
• Princeton has made at least 10 3-pointers in six of the last 10 games after doing so in only one of the first seven games.
• Through Monday's games, Princeton ranked ninth in the nation in 3s per game at 9.3. The team ranked in the national top 100 in nine statistical categories, with its next-highest ranking at 28th in fewest total turnovers (207). Between them, Hans Brase, Pete Miller, Spencer Weisz and Steven Cook are included in the national rankings (approximately the national top 250 players in each category) 14 times. Hans Brase has the highest ranking, at 38th in defensive rebounds per game (6.06), while Spencer Weisz is also in the top 100 with a 60th-best .848 free throw percentage.
• Five of Princeton's top six scorers are non-seniors, with sophomore Spencer Weisz, junior Hans Brase, freshman Amir Bell and sophomores Steven Cook and Pete Miller in the top six along with senior Clay Wilson, who is ahead of Miller 6.5 ppg to 6.0. The last time the Tigers finished the season with no seniors among the top five in scoring was 2009-10, when sophomore Douglas Davis, junior Dan Mavraides, freshman Ian Hummer, junior Kareem Maddox and sophomore Patrick Saunders were in the top five.
• Senior Clay Wilson's start against Rowan marked the first time since the fourth game of the season (Ben Hazel) that a senior made a start. Seniors have accounted for just 15.6 percent of minutes and 13 percent of the points this season.
• Spencer Weisz is leading the team in scoring at 13.1 ppg, 16 points in front of junior Hans Brase. The last sophomore (or younger) to end the season leading the team in scoring was in the 2009-10 season when Douglas Davis '12 averaged 12.7 ppg. Since: Kareem Maddox '11 in 2010-11, Ian Hummer '13 in 2011-12 and 2012-13, and T.J. Bray '14 in 2013-14.
• In 58 Ivy League seasons, Princeton has posted 52 winning Ivy seasons, four 7-7 finishes and just two losing records.

• Harvard is 7-0 when reaching 30 points by halftime but 0-2 when not reaching 20 points at the half. Oddly, the Crimson are 0-3 when scoring exactly 28 points in the first half, but 4-0 when putting up any other 20-something number in the opening period.
• Harvard is 9-0 when scoring at least 64 points but 2-5 when not reaching 64.
• Harvard is 8-0 when shooting 50 percent or better from the field but 3-5 when shooting below 50 percent.
• Harvard is 6-0 when hitting at least six 3-pointers but 5-5 when making five or fewer from distance.
• Eleven Harvard players have made a start this season, but five - Siyani Chambers, Agunwa Okolie, Steve Moundou-Missi, Wesley Saunders and Kenyatta Smith - have made 70 of the 80 starts. Smith, however, has missed the last two games due to injury.
• When opponents score at least 25 points in the first half, Harvard is 4-5. When opponents don't reach 25 by the break, the Crimson are 7-0. Opponents are 5-4 when shooting at least 39 percent from the field against Harvard but 0-7 when not shooting at least 39 percent.
• Harvard leads the Ivy in scoring defense (57.2 ppg), blocked shots (5.4 bpg) and steals (7.8 spg). Siyani Chambers leads the league in assists (4.7 apg) and Wesley Saunders leads in steals (2.1 spg). Dartmouth's Alex Mitola leads the league with 3.0 3FG per game and 35.4 minutes per game.
• Through Monday's games, no team in Division I had heard fewer whistles directed its way than Harvard, which has had 255 fouls called against it this season. The Crimson were also 14th in D-I in scoring defense at 57.2 ppg allowed, among the 11 statistical categories in which Harvard ranks in the national top 100. Wesley Saunders, Corbin Miller, Steve Moundou-Missi, Siyani Chambers and Kenyatta Smith account for 25 top-250 national individual statistical rankings. The top ranking among them belongs to Saunders, who was 34th with 2.06 steals per game.
• Dartmouth is 5-1 when reaching 30 points at the half and 3-7 when not.
• Dartmouth's opponents are 7-1 when shooting at least 40 percent form the field and 1-7 when not shooting at least 40 percent.
• Nine Dartmouth players have started a game so far this season with Alex Mitola, Connor Boehm, Gabas Maldunas, John Golden and Miles Wright starting the most, all with at least eight starts. Only Mitola and Boehm have started all 16 games.
• Through Monday's games, Dartmouth was ranked in the national top 100 in four statistical categories, led by its 23rd-best 204 turnovers, among the nation's fewest. Alex Mitola, Gabas Maldunas and Malik Gill are ranked a total of 14 times in the national top 250 individually, led by Mitola's 3 3-pointers per game, 24th in the nation.

| Mitch Henderson '98 is in his fourth season as Princeton's head coach. His overall record at Princeton is 66-41. Under Henderson, Princeton is 37-9 at home, 29-14 in the Ivy League, and 19-3 in the Ivy League at home. Princeton is 52-13 when leading at the half under Henderson. Henderson is the first Princeton coach since John Thompson III '88 (2000-04) to have winning seasons in each of his first three campaigns. He is the sixth Princeton coach to accomplish that, following Frederick Luehring (1912-20), Butch van Breda Kolff '44 (1962-67), Pete Carril (1967-96), Bill Carmody (1996-2000) and Thompson III '88 (2000-04). Henderson is in a tie for eighth place on the Princeton all-time wins list alongside predecessor Sydney Johnson '97 at 66 wins over four seasons. He is two wins behind John Thompson III '88 at 68 wins, also in four seasons. Henderson was a second-team All-Ivy Leaguer in 1998, an honorable mention All-Ivy Leaguer in 1997, and was a two-time Ivy Rookie of the Week in 1994-95. Henderson graduated as the fourth-leading assist man in program history (kept since 1974-75) and is now sixth, having been surpassed by two of his players, Ian Hummer '13 and T.J. Bray '14. Henderson graduated fifth in career steals (kept since 1974-75) and is now ninth, having been passed by former teammate Gabe Lewullis '99, current San Diego Padre Will Venable '05, Marcus Schroeder '10 and his former player T.J. Bray '14. Henderson is one of six Princeton alumni who are current Division I head coaches, including John Thompson III '88 (Georgetown), Joe Scott '87 (Denver), Mike Brennan '94 (American), Chris Mooney '94 (Richmond) and Sydney Johnson '97 (Fairfield). Prior to Princeton, Henderson coached at Northwestern for 11 seasons under his final head coach at Princeton, Bill Carmody, from 2000-11. |
