Princeton led 14-11 at the midway point of the first half but endured a scoreless stretch of 6:43 while Wake Forest scored 11 straight points and never relinquished the lead. While five Demon Deacons were in double figures, Wake Forest did its damage on the glass, outrebounding Princeton 45-27 including 12 offensive rebounds while Princeton got just two. Though Princeton outshot Wake from the field 45.6 to 42.6 percent, the Deacons hit 10 3-pointers, a 43.5 percent clip on 23 tries, while Princeton was just 8 of 27 (.296) from beyond the arc. |

• Princeton and Norfolk State have never met on the basketball court. Princeton has played two other MEAC schools in its history and is 3-0 against Florida A&M and 1-0 against North Carolina A&T. The Tigers beat FAMU in 1992, 2012 and in 2013 to open last season, and the win over NCA&T came in 1983.
• Princeton has won its last six games that begin a calendar year. The Tigers beat UNC Greensboro at home to begin 2009, at Saint Joseph's to open 2010, at home against Marist to open 2011, at Florida A&M to open 2012, at Elon to open 2013 and at Liberty to open 2014.
• The change in year has been a positive change for the Tigers during Mitch Henderson's tenure. In the pre-New Year portion of Henderson's four seasons, the Tigers have a record of 27-25 for a .519 winning percentage. From New Year's Day forward, the Tigers under Henderson are 36-16 with a .692 winning percentage.
• Princeton's starting lineup the last 10 games has included one junior (Hans Brase), three sophomores (Pete Miller, Spencer Weisz, Steven Cook) and one freshman (Amir Bell). Norfolk State's usual starting five has an experience advantage with all five usual starters at least juniors: Jeff Short (R-Jr.), Rashid Gaston (Jr.), D'Shon Taylor (Jr.), Malik Thomas (R-Sr.), Jamel Fuentes (R-Sr.). Senior Paulius Vinogradovas started in place of Thomas last time out against Georgia, but Thomas played 31 minutes to five for Vinogradovas.
• Princeton averages nine made 3-pointers a game and Norfolk State opponents have hit nine threes in seven of 16 games. Norfolk State is 2-5 in those games.
• Princeton is 4-0 when getting at least seven steals and 1-9 when getting six or fewer. The Tigers are also 4-1 when getting at least 13 turnovers from opponents and 1-8 when opponents turn the ball over fewer than 13 times.
• Princeton is 4-0 when holding opponents below 60 points and 1-9 when opponents get to 60.
• Princeton has made at least 10 3-pointers in five of the last seven games after doing so in only one of the first seven games.
• Princeton ranks 12th in Division I through Saturday's games in 3-pointers made (127), 14th in 3s per game at 9.1 and 18th in 3-pointers attempted at 337. Princeton leads the Ivy in those categories, plus assist-to-turnover ratio (1.11), 3FG percentage (.377) and turnover margin (0.6).
• Through Saturday's games, Hans Brase led the Ivy in 3s attempted, with 90. He was also second in in the league in defensive rebounds per game at 6.14.
• Princeton appeared to turn a corner defensively over the last two-game homestand, allowing Lipscomb and Liberty a combined .367 clip from the floor, the first time all season Princeton held back-to-back opponents below 40 percent from the field, but Wake Forest shot .426 against Princeton last time out. Princeton has allowed its last three opponents previous to Wake (Cal, Lipscomb, Liberty) just a .167 clip (5-30) from beyond the arc, but the Demon Deacons were 10 of 23 from three, a .435 clip.
• Princeton has been outrebounded in six straight games and hasn't been outrebounded in more than six straight games since an eight-game stretch in Nov./Dec. 2007. The Tigers will look to break that skid against a Norfolk State team that has outrebounded its opponents by 5.1 rpg this season.
• Princeton's top five scorers are non-seniors, with sophomore Spencer Weisz, junior Hans Brase, freshman Amir Bell and sophomores Steven Cook and Pete Miller. The last time the Tigers finished the season with no seniors among the top five in scoring was 2009-10, when sophomore Douglas Davis, junior Dan Mavraides, freshman Ian Hummer, junior Kareem Maddox and sophomore Patrick Saunders were in the top five.
• Princeton has started one junior (Hans Brase), three sophomores (Pete Miller, Spencer Weisz, Steven Cook) and one freshman (Amir Bell) in each of the last 10 games. Over the first four games this season, seniors averaged 48.3 minutes per game. In the last 10 games, the seniors have collectively played no more than 36 minutes in a contest.
• Of Princeton's 921 points so far, 806, or 88 percent, have been scored by non-seniors. Princeton's top five scorers on per-game average are non-seniors, and four of those are freshmen or sophomores (Weisz, Cook, Miller, Bell).
• Spencer Weisz is close to leading the team in scoring at 12.6 ppg, one point behind junior Hans Brase. The last sophomore (or younger) to end the season leading the team in scoring was in the 2009-10 season when Douglas Davis '12 averaged 12.7 ppg. Since: Kareem Maddox '11 in 2010-11, Ian Hummer '13 in 2011-12 and 2012-13, and T.J. Bray '14 in 2013-14.
• Princeton coach Mitch Henderson is presently ninth on the program's all-time wins list, but seventh place isn't far off. He's now at 63 wins, behind predecessor Sydney Johnson (66) and John Thompson III (68). Both are fellow Tiger alumni, Johnson (head coach from 2007-11) in the Class of 1997 and Thompson (head coach from 2000-04) in the Class of 1988.
• In 58 Ivy League seasons, Princeton has posted 52 winning Ivy seasons, four 7-7 finishes and just two losing records.

• Norfolk State head coach Robert Jones is in his eighth season with the program and second as head coach. NSU has been Jones' only stop as an NCAA coach.
• NSU was predicted fourth in the 13-team MEAC preseason coaches poll, and Jamel Fuentes and Rashid Gaston were second-team all-conference picks.
• NSU redshirt senior Malik Thomas played three years (plus a redshirt year) at Boston University under former Columbia head coach (2003-10) Joe Jones.
• Norfolk State has been a Division I member since the 1997-98 season and broke the 20-win mark for the first time in the 2011-12 season, a campaign that saw the Spartans enter the NCAA Tournament as a No. 15 seed and upset second-seeded Missouri 86-84. The Spartans were 21-12 in 2012-13 and had an automatic bid to the NIT after winning the regular-season title and losing in the conference tournament. NSU went 19-15 last year and received a bid to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament in the first season under Robert Jones after Anthony Evans went to coach at Florida International.
• The 2011-12 team that upset Missouri in the NCAAs was led by 6-10 center Kyle O'Quinn, who now plays for the Orlando Magic.
• When NSU scores 37 points by halftime, the Spartans are 5-1, and when scoring 76 points, NSU is 6-0. But when NSU doesn't hit 76 points, the Spartans are 3-7.
• Norfolk State is 8-0 when shooting better than 46.0 percent from the field and 1-7 when it does not.
• Norfolk State is 6-0 when holding opponents below 40 percent and 3-7 when opponents hit at least 40 percent from the field.
• Through Saturday's games, Norfolk State was No. 7 in the nation in total rebounds, at 589. The team's next-highest ranking was 33rd in total blocks, with 72. The team led the MEAC in free throw attempts (329), rebounding margin (+5.1), total assists (214) and total rebounds (589).
• Individually, through Saturday's games, Rashid Gaston led the MEAC with eight double-doubles and with 134 total rebounds. Jeff Short was the best in the MEAC with 309 total points, 101 field goals, 208 FG attempts, 77 assists and an .852 free throw clip.

| Mitch Henderson '98 is in his third season as Princeton's head coach. His overall record at Princeton is 63-41. Under Henderson, Princeton is 34-9 at home, 28-14 in the Ivy League, and 18-3 in the Ivy League at home. Princeton is 50-13 when leading at the half under Henderson. Henderson is the first Princeton coach since John Thompson III '88 (2000-04) to have winning seasons in each of his first three campaigns. He is the sixth Princeton coach to accomplish that, following Frederick Luehring (1912-20), Butch van Breda Kolff '44 (1962-67), Pete Carril (1967-96), Bill Carmody (1996-2000) and Thompson III '88 (2000-04). Henderson is in ninth place on the Princeton all-time wins list, with predecessor Sydney Johnson '97 in eighth with 66 wins over four seasons. Henderson was a second-team All-Ivy Leaguer in 1998, an honorable mention All-Ivy Leaguer in 1997, and was a two-time Ivy Rookie of the Week in 1994-95. Henderson graduated as the fourth-leading assist man in program history (kept since 1974-75) and is now sixth, having been surpassed by two of his players, Ian Hummer '13 and T.J. Bray '14. Henderson graduated fifth in career steals (kept since 1974-75) and is now ninth, having been passed by former teammate Gabe Lewullis '99, current San Diego Padre Will Venable '05, Marcus Schroeder '10 and his former player T.J. Bray '14. Henderson is one of six Princeton alumni who are current Division I head coaches, including John Thompson III '88 (Georgetown), Joe Scott '87 (Denver), Mike Brennan '94 (American), Chris Mooney '94 (Richmond) and Sydney Johnson '97 (Fairfield). Prior to Princeton, Henderson coached at Northwestern for 11 seasons under his final head coach at Princeton, Bill Carmody, from 2000-11. |
