PRINCETON, N.J. (1/5/15) - The travel partners of Princeton and Quinnipiac will go toe-to-toe for the second time this season, on Tuesday, Jan. 6. Game time is at 7 p.m., at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Conn.
EYE ON THE TIGERSPrinceton went 1-1 last weekend with a 4-3 loss at RPI followed by a 3-0 shutout of Union. The Tigers are now fourth in the ECAC with a 6-5 record, and are 8-8-1 overall. Sophomore defender Kelsey Koelzer leads the team with 18 points with a team-high 13 assists and five goals. Sophomore Molly Contini has tallied a team-best eight goals and adds seven assists for 15 points, while junior Jaimie McDonell has five goals and 10 helpers. Sophomore Hilary Lloyd chips in 11 points, and freshman Kiersten Falck has nine. Junior Kimberly Newell has been in goal for 15 of 17 games and has a 6-8-1 record with a .914 save percentage and a 2.60 goals against average. Freshman Alysia DaSilva collected the shutout at Union and has yet to allow a goal in more than 101 minutes of action.
PRINCETON/QUINNIPIAC SERIES
Princeton holds a 10-9-3 edge over Quinnipiac in the all-time series but it has been the Bobcats that have dominated the series the last few years. Quinnipiac is unbeaten in its last nine game versus Princeton, 8-0-1 with five shutouts, with Princeton's last victory on Jan. 3, 2011.
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Quinnipiac sits atop the ECAC standings with an 8-1-2 record. The Bobcats are 15-1-3 overall and ranked No. 5 in the latest national polls. The team's lone loss was a 2-1 game at Harvard on Dec. 6. The Bobcats posted two shutouts at Union and RPI this past weekend and now have 10 white washings on the season. Senior Chelsea Laden is responsible for all 10 and has allowed just 14 goals this season, for a 0.77 GAA and a .946 save percentage. Freshman Taylar Cianfarano sits atop the scoring column with nine goals and eight assists for 17 points. Seniors Eric Uden Johansson and Nicole Kosta have 16 points apiece with Kosta boasting a team-high 12 assists. Five other skaters are in double digits in points.
