Men's Tennis Posts Winning Day at LSU
November 08, 2015 | Men's Tennis
Princeton's men's tennis team split four doubles matches and won six of eight singles contests as the LSU Fall Invitational played its third day Saturday.
"We demonstrated marked improvement today with some better results," Princeton coach Billy Pate said. "We talked about avoiding certain pitfalls that were plaguing us, particularly how it related to our approach on crucial points and three-set matches. On Friday, we were 1 of 6 on matches going to the deciding set but today were were 4 of 4, so I was pleased to see that turnaround. We'll look to finish off with a solid outing tomorrow as we wrap up play for the weekend."
Among the singles wins was a victory by Luke Gamble over 85th-ranked Tam Trinh, who also fell to Jimmy Wasserman Thursday. The win was Gamble's first in his first chance against an ITA-ranked foe.
