Men's Track & Field Begins Home Slate With New Year's Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University indoor track and field team began its 2015-16 home schedule with a strong showing at the New Year's Invitational at Jadwin Gymnasium.
Charles Volker (6.79) and Josh Billington (6.95) finished first and third 60m dash, while Daniel McCord (34.94), Josh Freeman (35.12), and Bryant Switzer (35.60) took 1-2-3 in the 300m. Volker's 60m time set a new program record.
Eric Schulz won the 60m with a time of 1:20.14 with Franklin Aririguzoh placing third at 1:21.49. Stephen Rossettie (2:31.96) and Jared Lee (2:32.20) took the top two spots in the 1000m run, while Greg Caldwell was second in the 60m hurdles at 8.12.
Princeton's Jabari Johnson, Brennan O'Connor, McCord, and Freeman captured the 4x400 relay, clocking in a 3:20.04.
In the field events, Andrew Diehl was first in the high jump, clearing 1.97m. August Kiles was second in the pole vault at 5.20m, while Stefan Amokwandoh placed first in the triple jump at 14.48m. Adam Kelly was second in the weight throw (19.98m), with Vic Youn (18.28m) taking third.
Winning the heptathlon, Jake Scinto posted a score of 5238. Winning the event's 60m dash, Scinto clocked in at 6.99. Coming in third in the 1000m run, Scinto was second in the 60m hurdles. Capturing the high jump with a mark of 2.03m, he also won the long jump (7.01m) and was third in the pole vault (3.55m). Scinto posted the best throw in the shot put at 13.51m.
