Henry Caruso, Pete Miller and Spencer Weisz each had a double-double as Princeton rode a strong rebounding advantage to a 78-64 win at Lipscomb Saturday.
The win gives a victorious end to Princeton's three-game road swing, which saw the team take its first two losses of the season at Stony Brook last Saturday and Saint Joseph's Tuesday night.
It was the first time in program history that three players had double-doubles in the same game, with Caruso getting 24 points and a career-high 12 boards, Miller getting a season-high 12 points and 10 boards and Spencer Weisz getting a season-high 21 points and 11 rebounds.
That added up to a 55-29 rebounding edge that included 17 offensive rebounds that led to 19 second-chance points for the Tigers and just five for the Bisons. J.C. Hampton led Lipscomb with 25 points as the only Bisons player in double figures.
Princeton limited Lipscomb, a team that entered the game averaging 11 of 30 from beyond the arc, to just six 3-pointers on 22 tries. The Tigers canned 11 3s on 33 tries.
Lipscomb led only early on, when the Bisons' first basket of the game put the home team up 3-1. Princeton responded with a 15-4 run to take a nine-point lead before five minutes were gone, and the Tigers were never ahead by fewer than six points the rest of the way.
The Tigers took a 40-34 edge into the break and started the second half on a 10-2 run to open up a 14-point lead that got as high as 20 points.
Princeton will return home to face Liberty Thursday at 7 p.m. in Jadwin Gym. Fans who bring two non-perishable food items to donate will receive free admission.
