December 15, 2015 | Men's Track and Field
PRINCETON, N.J. – Charles Volker of the Princeton University men's indoor track & field team has been named the Suburban Transit/GoPrincetonTigers.com Athlete of the Week after putting together a stellar showing at the 2015 New Year's Invitational.
Turning in the top time in the prelims of the 60m dash (6.86), Volker was even more impressive in the finals, clocking in at 6.79. Edging out Monmouth's Bryan Sosoo (6.89) for the title, Volker's time broke the previous school record of 6.82 set by teammate Carrington Akosa last season.
The mark is also currently tied for the seventh-fastest in Ivy League history and is the 14th-best time run in Division I this year.
