PRINCETON, N.J. (2/26/15) - The Princeton women's hockey team begins postseason play this weekend when the No. 6 seeded Tigers take on No. 3 seed Quinnipiac in a best-of-three ECAC Quarterfinal series.
EYE ON THE TIGERS
Princeton heads into the postseason with a 15-12-2 overall record and the No. 6 seed in the ECAC playoffs with a 13-8-1 league record. In the final weekend of regular season, the Tigers topped Brown 4-1 before falling to Yale 2-1. Sophomore Molly Contini is the team's leading scorer with a team-high 16 goals and 12 assists for 28 points. Classmate Kelsey Koelzer leads the defenders in scoring with eight goals and a team-best 18 helpers for 26 points. Junior Jaimie McDonell chips in 25 points on 11 goals and 14 assists, while sophomore Hilary Lloyd adds 21 points on six goals and 15 assists. Four other Tigers are in double digits in scoring. SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Quinnipiac is the No. 3 seed in the ECAC playoffs after finishing the league season 15-5-2. Overall the Bobcats are 24-7-3. After starting the season 20-1-3, Quinnipiac has hit a second-half season slump going 4-6 since mid-January with its scoring offense dropping. Senior Nicole Kosta is two points behind with 10 goals and 15 assists, while junior Nicole Connery adds 24 points with 11 goals and 13 assists. Senior Erica Uden Johansson also has 24 points. Six others are in double digits in scoring. Senior Chelsea Laden owns a .930 save percentage and a 1.16 GAA with 14 shutouts while posting a 23-7-2 overall record.
