Curham Qualifies for NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

INDIANAPOLIS (3/3/15) - Sophomore All-America Megan Curham has been selected to compete in the 2015 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship, it was announced by the committee on Tuesday.
Curham is one of 16 athletes nationwide that will run in the women's 5,000 meters.
The championships will be held March 13-14 in Fayetteville, Ark., at the Randal Tyson Track Center hosted by the University of Arkansas.The 5,000 will be at 8:25 p.m., (ET) on Friday, March 13. ESPN3 will stream the meet live on March 14 & March 15 starting at 7 p.m. (ET). A tape delay will air on Sunday, March 21 on ESPNU at 7:30 p.m.
Curham qualified for the event after winning the Heps 5k last weekend at 16:01.51 - the fifth fastest time in Heps history and the eighth fastest time in conference history. She has a PR of 16:00.71 in the 5k (outdoor) from the Larry Ellis Invitational in 2014.
This is Curham's first time competing at the NCAA Indoor Championships. She has competed in two NCAA Cross Country Championships, earning All-America honors both times (34th in 2013, 18th in 2014). She earned second-team All-America honors outdoors last year as a freshmen finishing 11th in the 10k.
Curham becomes the sixth Tiger in Princeton history to compete in the NCAAs in each of the three sports (cross country, indoor and outdoor). She joins Emily Kroshus '04, Cack Ferrell '06,Catha Mullen '07, Liz Costello '09 and Ashley Higginson '11.
The Ivy League has a history of success with Dartmouth's Abbey D'Agostino winning the last two indoor 5ks. Four of those from last year's final make a return this year, including: Emily Stites (William & Mary) was was 6th, Chelsea Blaase (Tennessee) 7th, Emily Sisson (Providence) 8th and Molly Grabill (Oregon) 14th. Three others in this year's final competed in the 5k outdoor final in Eugene, including: Mara Olson (Butler) 12th, Elvin Kibet (Arizona) 14th and Diana Robison (Arkansas) 21st.
Senior Sisson has the best time in the country at 15:12.22, followed by freshman Sarah Disanza of Wisconsin at 15:20.57. Thirteen of those competing have run under 16 minutes.
