No. 11 Women's Water Polo Heads to Cambridge for Harvard Invitational

The Tigers will take on Marist and VMI on Saturday, Mar. 7 before squaring off with Iona on Mar. 8. Defeating the Gaels 18-6 earlier this season at the Princeton Invitational, the Orange and Black improved to 15-1 all-time against Iona. Princeton is a combined 11-0 against Marist and VMI.
All of this weekend's games will be broadcast live on the Ivy League Digital Network.
THE WEEK THAT WAS
• Princeton opened CWPA play last weekend with a 4-0 showing at Bucknell's Kinney Natatorium.
• The Tigers began the weekend with a pair of wins over the host Bison (W, 9-6) and Hartwick (W, 9-4).
• Princeton closed out play on Sunday with victories over Gannon (W, 11-3) and Mercyhurst (W, 16-7).
• On Saturday, Ashley Hatcher racked up four goals in two games, while Camille Hooks had three goals and four assists. Haley Wan had two goals, four helpers and four steals.
• Helena van Brande made six saves against Bucknell, while Ashleigh Johnson recorded 14 stops against the Hawks.
• Continuing her hot streak on Sunday, Hatcher posted seven goals, including five in the win over Mercyhurst. Hannah Lapkin had five goals against Gannon and Mercyhurst, while Taylor Dunstan recorded three goals and six assists.
• Splitting time in goal against Gannon, Johnson and van Brande registered six and eight saves, respectively. Van Brande logged all 32 minutes in net against Mercyhurst, making nine stops.
GETTING DEFENSIVE
• Ashleigh Johnson and Helena van Brande have split time in net for Princeton this season, combining for an 11-1 record and a 0.694 save percentage.
• van Brande is unbeaten in her six appearances, posting a 0.691 save percentage in 192:00 minutes.
• Johnson has recorded a 0.697 save percentage in six starts, logging 182:00 minutes en route to a 5-1 mark.
• van Brande and Johnson have also combined for seven assists and 22 steals.
WEEKLY ACCOLADES
• Three Tigers earned a spot on the CWPA honor roll on Mar. 4. Ashley Hatcher earned recognition on the Player of the Week honor roll, while Haley Wan and Ashleigh Johnson garnered praise on the Rookie and Defensive Player of the Week honor rolls, respectively.
• In four games over the weekend, Hatcher had 11 goals and three steals with a 0.647 shot percentage.
• Wan recorded three goals in her last four outings while also collecting seven assists, seven steals and three blocks. The rookie also went 8-1 on sprints.
• Johnson allowed five goals in 48 minutes over the weekend, stopping 20 of the 25 shots she faced for a 0.800 save percentage.
• Earlier this season Helena van Brande also garnered Rookie of the Week accolades (Feb. 9) before splitting Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors with Johnson on Feb. 16.
• Wan received recognition on the CWPA Player and Rookie of the Week honor rolls after going 2-0 on sprints with three goals and an assist against Brown.
FINDING A RHYTHM
• The Tiger offense has racked up 144 goals this season, registering a +77 scoring differential.
• Princeton has netted at least 30 goals in every quarter this season, with a high of 41 scores in the second period.
• All but one of Princeton's 15 field players have scored a goal this season, with six netting at least 10 scores.
• Ashley Hatcher has a team-high 27 goals, while Jessie Holechek has 21 scores.
• Morgan Hallock and Haley Wan have 14 and 11 goals, respectively, while Pippa Temple and Kimi Klein have 10 goals apiece.
• Wan leads the Tigers with a squad-best 19 helpers.
• Taylor Dunstan has 16 assists to go along with nine goals, while Camille Hooks has 13 assists. Hooks also leads the team with 15 steals, while Wan has 12 takeaways.
