With the game knotted at 1-1 in the early going, the Tigers netted two-straight goals, going up 3-1 on a Haley Wan score with 2:47 remaining in the first quarter. With time winding down in the period, Harvard's Charlotte Hendrix burst ahead, beating the buzzer and Princeton goalie Ashleigh Johnson for a breakaway goal.
Extending the Tiger lead, Pippa Temple and Ashley Hatcher netted back-to-back goals in the first 2:09 of the second. Once again looking to score inside of the five-minute mark, Temple fired a shot toward the cage that deflected off a Harvard defender and into the Crimson net. Moments later, Hatcher bounced one into the cage to push the Princeton lead to 7-2.
Tacking on two more scores, the Tigers stretched their lead to 9-2 in the latter stages of the first half. Snapping a string of six-straight Princeton goals, Harvard snuck a deflected shot into the back of the Tiger net, but Chelsea Johnson quickly answered with a goal of her own to make it 10-3 at the intermission.
Continuing to push forward, Hatcher found Temple for a goal on the near post, just 40 seconds into the third quarter. Down 13-5 entering the final frame, Harvard netted three of the five goals in the fourth, but it was too little, too late with Princeton holding onto a 15-7 win.
