April 22, 2015 | Women's Water Polo
PRINCETON, N.J. – Helping the 13th-ranked Princeton University women's water polo team to a pair of CWPA wins over Harvard and Brown, Ashley Hatcher has been named the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Player of the Week.
Racking up seven goals over the weekend on just eight shots (0.875), Hatcher also collected five steals and two assists. Against Harvard, Hatcher found the back of the opposing net on all four of her shot attempts, while also tallying two assists and two steals.
Continuing to serve as the catalyst to the Tiger offense against Brown, Hatcher posted a hat-trick on just four shots. Nabbing three steals, the senior also drew an ejection and recorded a block.
Factoring into the scoring in all 28 of her appearances this season, Hatcher has netted at least three goals on 13 occasions. Scoring on 0.583 of her shot attempts, she has registered a goal in all but two of her outings. Leading the team in scoring, Hatcher's career-high 70 goals in 2014-15 are already tied for the seventh-highest single-season total in program history.
