Curham & Barowski Advance on Day 1 of East Regionals

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (5/28/15) - Sophomore Megan Curham is the first Princeton Tiger to punch her ticket to the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship. Curham reaches the final of the 10k for the second straight season.
She finished ninth at the NCAA East Regional on the campus of North Florida this evening, running a 34:14.85. She is one of 12 that advances out of the East. Curham was an All-America in the event last spring, finishing 11th overall. The 10k final is slated for June 11 at 6:38 p.m., local time.
Also advancing on Day 1 is junior Cecila Barowski in the 800. Barowski took second in heat 4 and was 16th out of 48 overall as she clocked a 2:06.15. Her time advances her to the quarterfinals of the 800, which takes place tomorrow at 7 p.m. The quarterfinal consists of three heats. The top three from each heat plus the next three fastest times will qualify for the championship in Eugene, Ore.
In the same event, senior Kim Mackay ran 2:07.73 to take 34th overall.
Senior Jasmine Blocker was one hundreth of a second off her PR in the 400. She clocked 53.70 to finished 29th overall.
Barowski will kick things off tomorrow at 7 p.m., with the 800 quarterfinal. Sophomore Lizzie Bird and junior Emily de La Bruyere race in the steeplechase at 8:50 p.m.
