Johnson Helping Lead Team USA at Kusan Cup, FINA World League Super Final

PRINCETON, N.J. – After leading the Princeton University women's water polo team to its fourth CWPA Championship and third NCAA Tournament appearance, standout junior goalie Ashleigh Johnson has returned to the pool as a member of the United States Senior Women's National Team.
Joining Team USA for the Kushan Cup in Kushan, China earlier this month, Johnson racked up 16 saves in a pair of appearances. Turning away six shots in a 13-7 victory over host China in her Kusan Cup debut, Johnson got the start in the championship game against the Netherlands, making 10 saves to help lead the Americans to a gold medal.
Also earning a spot on the squad's FINA World League Super Final roster, Johnson continued to excel in the team's opener in Shanghai against Brazil, recording 12 stops in a decisive 16-3 win. Helping the Stars & Stripes to a second-consecutive tournament victory, Johnson posted eight saves in a 9-3 triumph over Canada.

The reigning CWPA Player of the Year, Johnson earned NCAA All-Tournament honors this past season after breaking both the single-game and tournament records for saves with 22 and 50, respectively. Logging 771:54 minutes in 27 appearances in 2015, Johnson posted a 22-5 record with a 0.709 save percentage.
In three seasons in Orange and Black, Johnson has turned away 1,062 of the 1,533 shots she has faced (0.693) en route to an 81-13 overall mark. Putting together three of the highest single-season save totals in program history, Johnson is already the program's career leader with 1,062 stops.
