Princeton Water Polo's Johnson, Hatcher Named to ACWPC All-America Teams

PRINCETON, N.J. – Coming off a successful 2015 campaign, Ashleigh Johnson and Ashley Hatcher of the Princeton University women's water polo team have each earned a spot on the ACWPC All-America teams.
Garnering her third All-America selection, Johnson was named to the second team. Enjoying a banner season, Hatcher received honorable mention recognition.
Named the CWPA Player of the Year, Johnson logged 771:54 minutes in 2015, posting a 22-5 record with a 0.709 save percentage. Recording double-digit saves in 16 of her appearances, Johnson earned NCAA All-Tournament honors this past season after breaking both the single-game and tournament records for saves with 22 and 50, respectively.
In three seasons in Orange and Black, Johnson has turned away 1,062 of the 1,533 shots she has faced (0.693) en route to an 81-13 overall mark. Putting together three of the highest single-season save totals in program history, Johnson is already the Tigers' career leader with 1,062 stops.
Enjoying a stellar senior season, Hatcher netted a team-high 86 goals while also collecting 22 assists, 19 steals, and 23 drawn ejections. Hatcher's 86 goals were the fourth-highest single-season total in program history. A first-team All-CWPA pick, Hatcher factored into the scoring in all 35 of her outings, finding the back of the opposing net in all but two appearances.
Tallying at least three goals in a game on 16 occasions, she scored a career-high six goals on eight shots against Loyola Marymount on Mar. 20. Racking up eight goals, three assists, and four steals during the CWPAs, she was a first-team All-Tournament honoree. During NCAA Championship play, Hatcher netted five goals in three games to become just the fifth player in program history to surpass the 200-goal plateau.
