All 15 Tigers played, none more than 21 minutes and no starter more than 15 as the Princeton men's basketball team ended its finals-break hiatus with a 100-44 win over Bryn Athyn in the annual post-finals non-Division I game.
The point total and the margin of victory were the largest in the history of the post-finals non-DI game, which dates back to 1986. Princeton had scored 99 points against Ursinus in 2003 and defeated Western Maryland by 54 in 2002.
Fourteen Tigers scored in the game with Spencer Weisz and Steven Cook each posting a game-high 14 points and Henry Caruso adding 13.
Princeton scored the game's first seven points and led by as many as 34 in the first half, leading 48-14 with just less than three minutes to go before the break. Bryn Athyn closed the opening period on a 9-0 run to make it 48-23 at the half, and Caruso was the last Tiger starter to play in the opening period when he subbed out with 5:20 to go.
The Tiger starting five were back after the break as Princeton scored the half's first 10 points, but Weisz, Caruso, Cook and company deferred to the reserves before long, as Cook the last starter to play when he exited with 15:38 left in the game.
Princeton will open the Ivy League season with a trip to Brown and Yale next Friday and Saturday. The Brown game is a 6 p.m. start Friday on the American Sports Network, and a list of stations on which to watch the game will be available during the week. The visit to Yale Saturday will be a 7 p.m. start on the Ivy League Digital Network.
