PRINCETON, N.J. (10/19/16) - Four Ivy League games remain which means the title race is still wide open. Princeton looks to turn the tables on a rough start in Ivy League play when it hosts Harvard on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 4 p.m., on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium.
The Crimson are tied atop the league standings with a 2-0-1 record, along with Columbia and Dartmouth. The Tigers are seeking their first win in the league after drawing Dartmouth 1-1 at home, falling by a single goal to Brown and losing in overtime at Columbia. Harvard however has not yet played Columbia or Dartmouth.
Princeton has a slight 42-40-8 edge over Harvard in the 107-year series history. The Tigers won a 3-2 game in Cambridge last year with three different goal scorers, Jeremy Colvin, Daniel Bowkett and Thomas Sanner to hand the Crimson its first league loss of 2015.
The Tigers are lead offensively by senior Greg Seifert. He has 19 points in 13 games, scoring eight goals with three assists. Freshman Benjamin Martin adds three goals and two assists. Three players follow with six points apiece, including: sophomore Sean McSherry, senior Vikram Pothuri and senior Mark Romanowski. Senior Josh Haberman has started in every game in goal and has a 1.38 goals against average and a .710 save percentage. Freshman Jacob Schachner saw his first collegiate action on Tuesday at Georgetown, making two saves on three shots.
Harvard is 7-3-2 overall and are riding a six-game unbeaten streak. The last three games have all been victory by shutout, the last, a 1-0 win at Brown. Senior Jake Freeman has 16 points in 12 games, scoring six goals and four assists. Junior Christian Sady has a team-high five assists and three goals while freshman Matthew Glass has four goals and two assists for 10 points. Sophomore Cesar Farias is next on the list with six points. Junior Kyle Parks has played every minute in goal and has a 1.29 GAA and a .775 save percentage with 55 saves on 71 shots.
