A double-eagle from junior Eric Mitchell highlighted the second day at the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational in Hawaii for the Princeton men's golf team, which stands in 12th place with one round remaining Tuesday.
Mississippi, Golfstat's 25th-ranked team in the nation, stands at -23 after two rounds to lead the field by 13 shots in front of co-runners-up No. 24 Missouri and Sam Houston State. Missouri's Hayden Buckley is -10, one shot better than Mateusz Gradecki of East Tennessee State to lead the race for medalist honors.
Senior Alex Dombrowski, who trimmed four shots off his 2-over 74 from Sunday, is the top Tiger after two rounds, standing at even par and tied for 29th overall. As a team, Princeton was 12 shots better Monday than in Sunday's first round.
Mitchell's double-eagle came on the par-5 18th hole and was one of four holes-in-two for the Tigers Monday. Junior Michael Davis birdied the par-3 seventh and 13th holes, and rookie Caden McLaughlin also birdied the 13th.
