Tigers Fall in Pair of ITA All-America Consolation Matches

Main Doubles Draw
Alex Day and Diego Vives continued their stay at the ITA All-America Championships in Tulsa Tuesday with a pair of qualifying singles consolation matches, and both of the Tigers' opponents prevailed.
Following some reshuffling, Day faced 97th-ranked Jurence Mendoza of Oklahoma State instead of Rice's Jake Hansen, and Mendoza took the match 6-2, 6-0. Vives fell to Julian Childers of Illinois 7-6(0), 6-2.
The Tiger contingent will have the day off Wednesday before the main-draw doubles competition begins Thursday for Day and Luke Gamble, the nation's 21st-ranked doubles pair, who will start off the 32-duo draw against the nation's top-ranked team, Julian Cash and Arjun Kadhe of Oklahoma State, at 1 p.m. CT/2 p.m. ET.
