The Week That Was
• Six players scored at least seven points as Princeton defeated Cornell, 71-51 at Jadwin Gymnasium on Friday.
• Senior Annie Tarakchian led the way with 12 points and six rebounds while Michelle Miller secured 11 points, four rebounds and four assists.
• After taking a 32-26 advantage at the half, the Tigers used a strong offensive effort in the third quarter, sinking 8-of-16 (50 percent) from the oor to outscore the Big Red by 14. Princeton also held Cornell to just three made bas- kets in the frame and never looked back.
• The team (17-4, 6-1 Ivy) continued its winning ways at home as it won its 23rd consecutive game at Carril Court with an 86-54 victory over the Columbia Lions (12-11, 1-7 Ivy).
• Senior Michelle Miller led the team with 16 points on a stellar 7-of-10 (70 percent) shooting. She also dished out ve assists and snagged two rebounds. Senior Annie Tarkachian just missed a double-double with eight points and 11 rebounds.
• Much like the previous night, Princeton used a fantastic third quarter to put the game away. The Tigers made 10- of-17 (58.8 percent) from the oor and held the Lions to just one made basket in the stanza to push their lead to 31.
Ivy Notes
• Last season, the Tigers captured their 12th conference title en route to a fth NCAA Tournament appearance.
. • Under Banghart, the Tigers have posted a 98-18 (.844) record against Ivy League opponents.
• Princeton is averaging 74.9 points per game, highest among Ivy League foes, Brown is third (67.2) while Yale is fth (65.1)
• The Tigers place second in the Ivy in scoring defense at 57.2 per contest. Banghart's squad maintains the top scor- ing margin at +17.7.
• In its seven Ivy matchups, Princeton has held opponents to a .340 eld goal percentage and .269 three-point eld goal percentage.
• The Orange and Black hold a +15.9 rebounding edge in Ivy League play this season.
• Michelle Miller is averaging 15.1 points in the Tigers' seven conference games, good for 5th among Ivy players. • Annie Tarakchian has the third best rebounding average in conference games (9.3).
Climbing the Charts
• Michelle Miller currently stands at 1,216 career points; she is 69 points shy of 10th place on the all-time list.
• One of the program's most prolific shooters, Miller's 41.4 career three-point percentage is currently the third highest mark in school history.
• Miller's 198 made threes are the fourth most all-time while her 476 attempts from beyond the arc is 10th.
• Annie Tarakchian is eighth in program history with 673 rebounds.
• Tarakchian's 6.5 career rebounds per game is just shy of the top ten.
• Taylor Williams is currently on pace to nish with a pro- gram-record 56.9 career shooting percentage.
Eating Your Wheatlies
• Alex Wheatley became the 24th member of the Tigers' 1,000-point club on Feb. 7 vs. Harvard.
• Wheatley is currently averaging a career-high 12.0 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
• The senior also has a career high 74 offensive rebounds this season.
• Wheatley is also shooting a career-high 67.7 (42-62) per- cent from the free throw line.
• Wheatley's 54.7 career shooting percentage is currently the third-highest in program history.
News and Notes
• Annie Tarakchian was invited to the USA Basketball Junior National Team Trials last May and won gold at the 2015 Pan Armenian Summer Games.
• A Princeton Shapiro Prize for Academic Excellence award winner and third-team CoSIDA Academic All-America honoree last season, Michelle Miller is a nalist for the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship.
• One of just five Princeton juniors to be accepted into the University's Scholar's in the Nation's Service Initiative, Alex Wheatley spent the summer interning at the National Institute of Health in Washington, D.C.
• Sophomore Leslie Robinson is the daughter of Princeton alumnus Craig Robinson, who is one of only two men's players in program history to twice be named Ivy League Player of the Year. Her aunt Michelle Robinson (Michelle Obama) gradu- ated from Princeton in 1985 and is currently the First Lady of the United States and the wife of President Barack Obama.
• Freshman Qalea Ismail is the daughter of Qadry “The Missle” Ismail, who played 10 seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with her uncle Raghib “Rocket” Ismail, who played for nine seasons.
• Jordan Muhammad's father, Muhsin, played 14 seasons in the NFL, for the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears.
