The Princeton track & field teams host the Princeton Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 21 at Jadwin Gym.
The meet begins at 11 a.m., with three different field events, while the track races start at 12:30 p.m., with trial hurdles.
Last weekend both teams competed at the Fasttrack National Invitational at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island.
Highlighting the women's performances was a school record by senior Cecilia Barowski in the 400. Barowski finished the lap in 54.39, which was second overall and the top collegiate time in the 400 Invitational race. Her time succeeds the previous record of 54.66 set by Agatha Offorjebe '09 from 2008 at Penn State. Junior Lizzie Bird won the 3,000 Invitational with a time of 9:18.42. It was more than seven seconds ahead of the other 13 runners and the first 3,000 she has competed in this season. Three other Tigers claimed event wins including: senior Summer Hanson in the 800 at 2:14.66, sophomore Melissa Reed in the 3,000 with a PR of 9:57.09, and freshman Kerri Davidson in long jump with a distance of 5.35.
Sophomore Zach Albright won the mile and freshman Adam Kelly took top honors in the weight throw for the men. Kelly had the top throw of 20.36 in the weight throw, the only competitor to throw further than 20 meters. Four Tigers PR'ed in the mile, two in the college race and two in the invitational race. Princeton went 1-2 in the college mile with Albright winning at 4:12.28, followed by junior Stephen Rossettie at 4:15.59. The best time was sophomore Noah Kauppila in the invitational mile, a 4:02.60.
