Barowski Sets Meet Record; Harris Named MOP at #IvyHeps

ITHACA, N.Y. (2/28/16) - Senior Cecilia Barowski won the 500-meter dash with a meet record as the Princeton women's track & field team took fourth at the 2016 Ivy League Indoor Heptagonal Track & Field Championships at Barton Hall on the Cornell campus this afternoon.
Not only was Barowski's time of 1:11.34 a meet record it was also a facility record and a PR, as the Tigers claimed the victory in the event for the second consecutive year. Kim Mackay '15 won last year with Barowski taking second. This year Barowski crushed the rest of the competition as she made it look easy, crossing the line solo. She went on to grab another two points in the 1,000 with her time of 2:50.47.
After winning the pole vault yesterday, junior Allison Harris grabbed the Tigers another point in the 60-meter hurdles. She clocked 8.81 for sixth place. Harris was named the Most Outstanding Field Performer of the Meet as voted on by the head coaches.
Sophomore Ashley Forte was the runner-up in the 800 at 2:10.77. Freshman Anna Jurew was a scorer as well, as she was fifth at 2:11.76
Freshman Kerri Davidson was third in her first Ivy Heps triple jump. She reached 12.22 (40-1.25) on her final attempt.
Sophomore Kennedy O'Dell earned more points today, in addition to her four points in yesterday's weight throw. She was fifth in the shot put today as her third throw hit 13.01 (42-8.25).
Junior Elisa Steele was sixth in the 400 at 57.31 and sophomore Quinn Parker just missed a scoring spot with a seventh-place finish of 58.75.
The distance medley relay of junior Zoe Sims, sophomore Mattie Baron, freshman Jackie Berardo and freshman Brighie Leach was third. The relay posted an 11:37.22.
Junior Katie Hanss, freshman Alie Fordyce, Jurew and Forte made up the 4x800 that finished third at 8:58.81.
Steele, Parker, senior Meghan McMullin and Barowski took fourth as the 4x400. The relay posted a time of 3:48.89.
Harvard won the team title with 136.5 points, while Cornell was second with 123.5, followed by Dartmouth 101 and then Princeton with 77. Rounding out the scoring was Brown 65.5, Columbia 52, Penn 48.5 and Yale 16.
