Princeton Tops Dartmouth 85-48 As All 15 Players Score
February 06, 2016 | Women's Basketball
Box Score
If the Princeton women's basketball team was a stranger to the NCAA tournament before Courtney Banghart became head coach nine years ago, it doesn't mean the coach herself was.
In fact, Banghart made four NCAA tournament trips - and one WNIT trip - during her time as a player and then assistant coach at Dartmouth College. She's also a member of the Dartmouth Hall of Fame.
Sentimentality, though, has no place in the current Ivy League women's basketball race, and so for Banghart her latest trip back to her alma mater was all business. And her Tigers, looking to make it six NCAAs for Banghart at Princeton, took care of business in a big way, using a late first quarter run to take control and then sprint past Dartmouth 85-48 at the Leede Arena Friday night.
The win improved Princeton to 14-4 overall and 3-1 in the Ivy League, behind Penn, who improved to 4-0 with its win over Harvard and even with Cornell with one loss, though the Big Red has one more win after topping Brown. Princeton plays at Harvard Sunday at noon in a game that will be televised by the American Sports Network.
Princeton had all 15 players score in the game, and nobody scored more than the 11 that Michelle Miller and Alex Wheatley both put up.

* Banghart ranks seventh all-time at Dartmouth with 1,423 career points.

* Banghart is now 13-4 as a head coach against Dartmouth, including winning 13 straight after losing the first four. Princeton had never been to the NCAA tournament prior to her arrival as head coach but now has been to five, giving her nine NCAAs and two WNITs in her career.
