Women's Squash Completes Perfect Weekend With 9-0 Sweep Of Brown
February 08, 2016 | Women's Squash
Princeton won 27 of 28 individual games during the win, and it did so while resting both of its reigning First-Team All-America standouts, Olivia Fiechter and Maria Elena Ubina. Senior Rachel Leizman handled the responsibilities at the No. 1 spot, and she claimed a 3-0 win over Quincy Beck. Leizman had one of the most exciting individual games of the match, as she won a 15-13 game midway through her match.
The Tigers got three wins from their seniors; besides Leizman, both Tara Harrington (No. 6) and Isabella Bersani (No. 9) scored 3-0 wins.
Sophomore Lindsey Scott continued her return from a preseason injury; she went 2-0 on the weekend with a 3-1 victory over Skylar Murphy. After splitting the first two games, Scott won games of 11-5 and 11-4 to clinch the win.
Princeton will try to run its win streak to three when it faces Cornell Friday night at the Jadwin Squash Courts.
