• The Tigers are 10-1 or better through 11 games in the Ivy for the 17th time in program history, but heading into the final Ivy weekend, that's only gotten the Tigers in contention to win, no title in hand. Yale stands at 11-1 heading to Cornell and Columbia while Princeton is 10-1 heading to Dartmouth and Harvard with a visit from Penn waiting Tuesday.
• The first 16 times Princeton has stood at 10-1 or 11-0 through 11 Ivy games, it's led to an Ivy title. Five of those times resulted in Ivy playoffs, in 1959, 1968, 1981, 1996 and 2011, with Princeton winning the last three for the NCAA bid.
• Princeton has already won more games this year than it did all of last season, now with 20 after 16 wins a year ago. Last Friday's win pulled Mitch Henderson, now with 94 wins, past Bill Carmody and into sixth place all-time at Princeton. Henderson is within another good season of climbing all the way to third place, with Frederick Leuhring (1912-20) at 100 wins, Butch van Breda Kolff (1962-67) at 103 and Albert Wittmer (1923-32) at 115. The top two, of course, will require a lot of seasons and a lot of wins, with Franklin "Cappy" Cappon (1938-43, 1946-61) second at 250 wins and Pete Carril (1967-96) first at 514.
• Princeton has had an equal or better record from the first half to the second half of the Ivy season in all four years under Mitch Henderson. In 2012, The Tigers were 4-3 in the first go-round and 6-1 in the second. In 2013, the team was 5-2 in each half. In 2014, the team struggled to a 2-5 start before going 6-1 in the back half. Last season, the team was 4-3 over the first seven and 5-2 over the last seven. So far in 2016, Princeton was 6-1 over the first half and is 4-0 so far over the second half.
• Princeton's Ivy League win streak of eight games is the program's longest single-season league win streak under Mitch Henderson and longest since the 2011 Ivy title team won eight in a row. That season was also the last time Princeton was 10-1 through 11 Ivy games. Princeton won nine straight Ivy games in 2004, another title year, and last won 10+ consecutive Ivy games in 1998, Henderson's senior year and Princeton's last 14-0 Ivy campaign.
• For those looking past this weekend, only twice in Ivy history, even with all the years that Penn and Princeton dominated the league, have two teams finished at 13-1 with those two teams splitting the series. The first time was in 1959, when Dartmouth beat Princeton in Hanover and six days later, Princeton beat Dartmouth in Dillon Gym. The other time was in 1981, when Princeton beat Penn in Jadwin early in the league season and Penn beat Princeton less than a month later at The Palestra.
• Princeton has won at five of the other seven Ivy League venues at least once in the last two seasons. This year's 79-75 defeat at Yale was the fifth straight time the Bulldogs have defended home court against the Tigers, and Harvard has also won five in a row at home against Princeton. The 2016 game, however, figures to bear little resemblance to the 2015 game, especially on Harvard's side. Of Harvard's 63 points from the Feb. 21, 2015 game against Princeton, only four will be in uniform Friday night. Zena Edosomwan and Corbin Miller had a bucket apiece in that game. For Princeton, 28 of its 55 points return, led by 13 from Spencer Weisz with 10 each from Hans Brase and Clay Wilson and seven from Ben Hazel as those not back. This year's game at Princeton saw Weisz, Henry Caruso, Steven Cook and Devin Cannady combine for 67 points after three of the four (without Cannady, being a freshman this year) combined for 22 points in the Bay State a year ago. Similarly, Agunwa Okolie, who took one shot in 13 minutes last year against Princeton at Harvard, had 14 points this year at Princeton and a rookie, Tommy McCarthy, had 16 to lead Harvard last month in Jadwin.
• Despite outshooting Harvard 49 percent to 42 percent from the field and 37 to 25 percent from 3, and despite outrebounding Harvard 30-27 in that game last year at Lavietes, Princeton fell by eight points thanks in part to 20 turnovers to just seven for the Crimson. This year, Princeton is averaging 11 turnovers a game on the season overall and has not had more than 14 turnovers in any game during the Ivy slate. Harvard had 13 steals in that game and hasn't had more than 10 in any game this year, with those games against Canadian opponent Ryerson and at Penn. Then again, that 13-steal number was a high one for last year's Crimson team as well, which had double-digit steals against only Vermont (14) and Division II Saint Rose (15). Princeton had 12 turnovers in the game at Jadwin last month while Harvard committed 19, with Chris Egi (3:2) as the only player with a positive assist-to-turnover ratio for the Crimson in that game.
• Harvard's visit to Princeton last month came when the Crimson's leading scorer on the season, Zena Edosomwan (13.1 ppg), missed the Princeton-Penn weekend due to injury, and the junior big man has seen his scoring average drop a bit since his return the following weekend. Pre-injury, Edosomwan averaged 14.5 points per game in 27.7 minutes a contest. In the six games since, he's averaged 9.5 points per game in 19.2 minutes a contest. That includes the trip to Princeton's fellow Ivy title contender Yale last weekend when Edosomwan played a season-low 12 minutes and was held scoreless on five field goal tries. The Crimson were without Tommy McCarthy due to injury last weekend, and classmate Corey Johnson filled in to score 24 points on 9-of-20 shooting from the field and 6 of 15 from distance.
• Princeton nailed 25 3-pointers over the Harvard-Dartmouth home weekend last month, a number not unusual for Princeton but one that's high for opponents of the Crimson and the Big Green. Princeton's 12 3-pointers against Harvard were the most made against the Crimson this year, and all four instances in which Harvard has allowed more than 10 3-pointers this season have come on the road. Cornell's 10 in a 77-65 win at Lavietes in January are an opponent high for the season in that building. Similarly, Princeton's 13 3-pointers against the Big Green remain an opponent high for Dartmouth this season, but visiting teams have been able to rack up the triples on a few occasions in Leede Arena this winter. Of the six occasions in which Dartmouth opponents hit 10 3s or more, three of those were at Leede, against Hartford, Columbia and Bryant.
• The 3-pointers (13 of 24, .542) and strong shooting overall (28-52, .538) helped Princeton beat Dartmouth 83-70 in Jadwin Gym last month, allowing the Tigers to overcome a slight rebounding disadvantage, 35-31, and committing 10 turnovers to eight for the Big Green. Dartmouth has allowed opponents to shoot .500 or better from the field seven times in 26 games this season and .500 or better from 3-point range four times this season. Princeton, Harvard and Seton Hall are the only opponents common to both categories. While Princeton's shooting clip against the Big Green was on the high end for a Dartmouth opponent this season, the Big Green were among their best at avoiding turnovers when they came to Jadwin. That game was one of only three this season in which Dartmouth didn't turn the ball over at least 10 times, and Dartmouth's median turnover total this season is 14. Princeton's 10 turnovers were much closer to its average of 11.
• Entering Tuesday's games, Princeton's RPI was 34th, 17 spots ahead of Yale's at 51st. All five of Princeton's defeats were to teams in the top 62, including Miami (7), Maryland (10), Saint Joseph's (26), Yale (51) and Stony Brook (62).
• Devin Cannady's 294 points this season already make him the fifth-highest scoring Princeton freshman in the era of freshman eligibility (since 1978-79). Given his average of 11.8 points per game, he is on pace to finish fourth on that list with 329 points, with any postseason on top of that. That'd be just short of second and third place, held by Spencer Gloger (336 in 1999-2000) and Douglas Davis (333 in 2008-09). Chris Young holds the freshman scoring record with 387 points in 1998-99. Between Cannady and Davis is John Smyth (319 in 1982-83).
• Princeton was down by at least eight points with less than five minutes to go in three of its first eight Ivy League games and came back to win two of those, at Penn and Columbia. In looking at the last five minutes of those three games, including the Yale contest in which Princeton had the chance to tie in the final minute, the Tigers outshot their foes .459 (17-37) to .378 (14-37) from the field, .357 (5-14) to .250 (3-12) from 3, took 10 more free throws than the trio of foes and made them at a .737 clip (28-38). Devin Cannady, who scored the team's final eight points in regulation and five of the 12 in the OT at Columbia, scored 24 of the team's 67 points in the last five minutes of those games. Steven Cook and Amir Bell had the next-most points in that span, with 12 apiece.
• Since the calendar flipped from 2015 to 2016, rookie Myles Stephens has seen a jump in his numbers. He shot .379 (11-29) from the field in the 2015 portion of the schedule and .530 (35-66) since and averaged 1.7 boards and 3.4 points before the new year and 2.6 boards and 6.9 points since.
• Under Mitch Henderson, the Tigers now have a 34-29 (.540) record in the pre-New Year portion of the schedule and a 60-22 (.732) record from Jan. 1 forward.
• Princeton has made at least half its field goal tries 12 times this season and has shot .400 or better from the field 21 times in the season's 25 games. The Tigers are 19-2 in those games (loss vs. Maryland, at Yale). The Penn game was the first and only time this season Princeton won without shooting at least .400 from the field.
• Princeton has made 10 3-pointers in a game 15 times this season, hitting just that number last time out against Cornell.
• Junior Henry Caruso, who is shooting .538 from the field on the season, has made at least half his field goal tries in 18 of the 25 games this season. Princeton is 15-3 when Caruso makes at least half his tries and 5-2 when he doesn't.
• Princeton enters the weekend as the top team in the Ivy in scoring offense (79.4 ppg), scoring margin (+11.7), field goal percentage (.467), 3-point field goal percentage (.383), assists per game (15.1), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.4), defensive rebounds (27.6 drpg) and 3s made per game (9.7). Individually, Princeton has the Ivy's top free throw shooter in Devin Cannady (.882) and the league's top player in assist-to-turnover ratio, with Spencer Weisz at 3.0.
• Entering Tuesday's games, Princeton was in the top 10 percent nationally (top 34) in seven statistical categories, including second in fewest fouls (423), eighth in fewest turnovers (278), 16th in winning percentage (.800), 16th in 3s per game (9.7), 20th in scoring margin (+11.7), 31st in fouls per game (16.9), and 34th in 3FG percentage (.383). Individually, Devin Cannady, Henry Caruso, Pete Miller and Spencer Weisz combined for eight top-250 statistical rankings, led by Cannady's 16th-best .882 free throw clip.
• Under Mitch Henderson, Princeton has scored 90 points in a game six times. That's more than all other post-Pete Carril coaches combined and the fourth-most under a coach in program history. Princeton scored 90+ 21 times under Pete Carril, 18 times under Butch van Breda Kolff and 11 times under Cappy Cappon.
• Princeton's juniors (Caruso, Cook, Miller, Rayner, Weisz) have scored 1,118 of the team's 1,986 points, or 56.3 percent. Players who are able to return next year have scored 99.2 percent of the team's points (1,971 of 1,986).
• Princeton has had eight double-doubles this season, including three in one game at Lipscomb, the first time that has happened in program history. Princeton's eight double-doubles this season, by four players (Caruso 3, Cook, Miller 2, Weisz 2) have already surpassed last year's five, which were all by Hans Brase, and are the most since the 2010-11 team had 10 double-doubles by three players. Twenty-six double-doubles, by the 1964-65 and 1966-67 teams, is the program record.

• Entering Tuesday's games, Harvard ranked in the top 10 in the nation in one statistical category, 3-point FG percentage defense at .306. Evan Cummins, Zena Edosomwan, Corey Johnson, Tommy McCarthy and Agunwa Okolie combined for 17 top-250 statistical mentions, led by Edosomwan's 34th-best 6.85 defensive rebounds per game.
• Entering the weekend, Harvard leads the Ivy in 3-point field goal percentage defense at .306 and in blocks at 4.9 bpg.
• Entering Tuesday's games, Dartmouth's top national statistical ranking was 53rd in turnovers forced at 14.62/game. Connor Boehm, Evan Boudreax and Malik Gill combined for 14 top-250 statistical recognitions, led by Boudreaux's 29th-best 6.96 defensive rebounds ber game.
• Entering the weekend, Dartmouth is the Ivy's best free throw shooting team at .728, the only category where the Big Green had a team or individual Ivy leader.

| Mitch Henderson '98 is in his fifth season as Princeton's head coach. His overall record at Princeton is 94-51. Under Henderson, Princeton is 53-11 at home, 47-20 in the Ivy League, and 29-5 in the Ivy League at home. Princeton is 77-17 when leading at the half under Henderson. Henderson is the first Princeton coach since John Thompson III '88 (2000-04) to have winning seasons in each of his first four campaigns. He is the sixth Princeton coach to accomplish that, following Frederick Leuhring (1912-20), Butch van Breda Kolff '44 (1962-67), Pete Carril (1967-96), Bill Carmody (1996-2000) and Thompson III '88 (2000-04). Henderson is in fifth place on the Princeton all-time wins list at 93 wins after having passed Bill Carmody (92), who was a Princeton assistant for Henderson's first two seasons as a player and head coach for Henderson's last two, with the Feb. 26 win over Columbia. Carmody hired Henderson as an assistant coach at Northwestern in 2000, where Henderson remained for 11 seasons until coming to Princeton. Leuhring, with 100 wins, is in fifth place. Henderson was a second-team All-Ivy Leaguer in 1998, an honorable mention All-Ivy Leaguer in 1997, and was a two-time Ivy Rookie of the Week in 1994-95. Henderson graduated as the fourth-leading assist man in program history (kept since 1974-75) and is now sixth, having been surpassed by two of his players, Ian Hummer '13 and T.J. Bray '14. Henderson graduated fifth in career steals (kept since 1974-75) and is now ninth, having been passed by former teammate Gabe Lewullis '99, Will Venable '05, Marcus Schroeder '10 and his former player T.J. Bray '14. Henderson is one of six Princeton alumni who are current Division I head coaches, including John Thompson III '88 (Georgetown), Joe Scott '87 (Denver), Mike Brennan '94 (American), Chris Mooney '94 (Richmond) and Sydney Johnson '97 (Fairfield). |
