“We are so excited and grateful for the opportunity to represent the Ivy League and the ECAC in the NCAA Tournament," Princeton head coach Jeff Kampersal said. "We are equally excited to play Minnesota, the defending champs and first class program. Coach Frost has done a spectacular job with his team, not only this year, but since he stepped foot on campus. Ridder will packed, it will be so much fun. I am so proud of our team. We have experienced so much emotionally this year, but the team has remained relentless. Again, we are grateful for the opportunity to compete."

"We couldn't be more excited to have the opportunity to play in the NCAA tournament!" captain Cristin Shanahan said. "This team has worked so hard all year and faced so much adversity, and we are so grateful to be given this chance. Minnesota will certainly be a battle but they're nothing we can't handle. Go Tigers!"
These two teams are familiar with each other, having played each other last year and the previous year. The teams played a tight series just last year at Hobey Baker Rink, one that could have gone either way. Princeton visited Minnesota for a two-game set in 2013. Overall Minnesota holds an 8-1-1 advantage in the all-time series with Princeton.
