April 20, 2016 | Women's Water Polo
PRINCETON, N.J. – Sophomore Chelsea Johnson of the Princeton women's water polo team has been named the Collegiate Water Polo Association's (CWPA) Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced today.
It's the sophomore's second honor of the season. She was picked as the CWPA Player of the Week in March. Moving to goalie this weekend, Johnson began with a 10-save performance vs. Brown in three quarters. She also made four saves as the Tigers took down George Washington, 15-2. Johnson was crucial as the Tigers posted a 13-12 win over No. 21 Hartwick. In the game, the sophomore made 10 saves. Johnson had seven saves in the team's 10-9 loss to Bucknell.
Princeton will be the No. 4 seed in the upcoming Collegiate Water Polo Association's (CWPA) Championship. The Tigers will take on No. 5 Harvard at 4:30 p.m. on Apr. 29.
