April 25, 2016 | Women's Track and Field
PRINCETON, N.J. (4/25/16) - Junior Allison Harris of the Princeton women's track & field team has been named the GoPrincetonTigers.com Athlete of the Week presented by Suburban Transit for the week ending April 24.
Harris became the Ivy League and Princeton record holder in the pole vault after clearing 4.15 (13-7.25) at the Larry Ellis Invitational on Saturday. It tops a 12-year record of 4.11 (13-5.75) held by Chelo Canino from the 2004 NCAA Regionals.
She cleared the height on her second attempt, after passing on heights of 3.20-3.70 before taking her first vault at 3.80 and clearing easily. Harris then made 3.90, 4.00 and 4.15. Harris set the Ivy League indoor record in February at Penn State's Sykes & Sabock Challenge Cup with a mark of 4.20 (13-9.25).
