Bragg & Kelly Take Second at IC4As; Princeton in First after Day 2

PRINCETON, N.J. (5/14/16) - Freshman Adam Kelly and senior Adam Bragg were both runners-up in their respective events on Day 2 of the IC4A Championships on Saturday, May 14 at Weaver Stadium.
Kelly was the runner-up in the hammer throw at 65.90 (216-2). He had two countable throws in a competition of 26, reaching 62.16 and 65.90.
Bragg was the runner-up in the pole vault, clearing 5.21 (17-1). He passed on heights 4.70-5.11 before trying and getting over 5.21. Junior Ben Gaylord was ninth at 4.85 (15-11) clearing the height on his final attempt.
Senior Jake Scinto had his best long of the season in the long jump. He finished fifth overall to grab four points for his squad. He started with a 6.96 before his best jump of 7.18. Followed with a 6.93, 6.72, 6.95 and 6.97.
Freshman Jeremy Spiezio qualified for the finals of the 1500. After taking fourth in the 5k last night, Spiezio was 10th in the 1500 prelims at 3:50.85. He had splits of 46.08, 1:00.99, 1:02.34 and 1:10.45. Senior Luke Brahm was 22nd in the race at 3:52.90.
Senior Greg Caldwell advanced in the 110-meter hurdles. He was seventh in the prelims at 14.45 out of 32 hurdlers. Later in the afternoon he was fifth in the semifinals which advances him the final tomorrow. He improved upon his prelim time but finishing at 14.41
Sophomore Carrington Akosa was the runner-up in the prelims of the 100, in a race of 40 to advance to the semifinals. He clocked 10.61 in the prelims and had the same time in the semifinals to again take second. Akosa will run in the final tomorrow. Akosa also qualified for the 200 finals after posting a 21.48 in the prelims, the third best time out of 36.
After eight events, Princeton is tied for first place with Iona with 35 points. William & Mary is third with 26 points.
