Day One Complete at Princeton's ITA Summer Circuit Site

The first day of Princeton's ITA Summer Circuit site saw incoming freshmen Payton Holden and Davey Roberts each win his opening singles match as the tournament moved on into Sunday.
In singles play, both had first-round byes before Roberts, the sixth seed in the draw, beat fellow Floridian Elliott Thornton 6-0, 6-0 in the Round of 64 and Holden, the fourth seed, beat Pennsylvanian Justin Kang 6-1, 6-2. Roberts will face unseeded Cameron Swanson from Fair Haven, N.J. Sunday in the Round of 32 while Holden will meet Western Connecticut State rising junior Marco Gobbato. Both matches are set for an 11:30 a.m. start.
In doubles play, Holden and playing partner Michael Zhao from nearby West Windsor had the top seed and will face Lehigh rising junior Dylan Karchere-Sun and Kang Sunday at 1:30 p.m. whille Roberts and playing partner Michael Rozenvasser from Haworth, N.J. have the third seed and will meet New Yorker Daniel Shleimovich and Henry Shepherd from Ridgewood, N.J. in the Round of 16 at 2:30.
