PRINCETON, N.J. (9/19/16) - The Princeton men's soccer team carries a win streak to Philadelphia, as the Tigers take on the Drexel Dragons in a mid-week game on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
The Tigers are coming off of a 2-0 week that saw them top No. 22 ranked Rider and Boston University to improve to 2-2 on the season. Freshman Benjamin Martin leads the team in scoring with two goals and one assist for five points, while senior Greg Seifert has scored twice. Senior Vikram Pothuri and junior Harry Heffernan have each scored a goal and an assist while junior Daniel Bowkett has chipped in three assists. Senior Josh Haberman owns a 1.50 goals against average and a .700 save percentage stopping 14 of 20 shots on goal.
Princeton owns a 4-2-1 advantage in the all-time series with Drexel and have won the last five meetings, all by way of shutout. Last year's the Tigers got goals from Brendan McSherry '16, Jack Hilger '16, Harry Heffernan and Daniel Bowkett, while Josh Haberman made three saves in his first career shutout.
Drexel is 1-3-2 on the season and coming off of a 2-0 loss to Northeastern in its CAA opener. The Dragons are unbeaten at home, 1-0-1 and have played three overtime games this season including its lone win a 3-2 victory over Temple on Sept. 13. Ilai Shvika has scored twice for Drexel, while Colin McGlynn has one goal and notched two assists for four points. Both Eden Ben Hemo and Carlos Cuevas had one goal apiece. Armin Efendic and Xavier Hernandez have taken the most shots ont he team, a combined 25 (40 percent of the team's total), but have not scored a goal. Tyler Afflerbach has a 1.23 goals against average and a .724 save percentage, as the only keeper the Dragons have utilized this season.
