Princeton Sits Tied For No. 11 In CWPA Varsity Poll

CWPA Varsity Poll
PRINCETON, N.J. – Despite not playing yet this season, the Princeton Tigers jumped in the latest Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) varsity poll, climbing into a tie for No. 11. The Tigers were tied for No. 12 last week.
The top five in the poll remained virtually the same as Stanford is No. 1, followed by UCLA, Calif. While Hawaii and Arizona State are tied for No. 5. Michigan is still the top CWPA team, coming in at No. 8.
The women's water polo squad returns four of its top seven scorers from last year's team that went to CWPA Semifinals including Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Honorable Mention All-Americans Lindsey Kelleher and Haley Wan. Kelleher led the team with 41 assists and finished second in goals (48) and drawn ejections (25). Wan was one of just 15 players in program history to score at least 50 goals (58) on a team-high 94 shots. She was first in steals (40), tied for first in blocks (seven), second in assists (37) and sprint wins (16).
Princeton's first practice was on Sunday. The 2017 season gets underway at the Bruno Classic hosted by Brown during the Super Bowl Weekend. (Feb. 4-5).
