Daniels Named GPT Athlete of the Week

Freshman Joey Daniels of the Princeton men's track & field team has been named the GoPrincetonTigers.com Athlete of the Week, presented by Coach USA for the week ending Jan. 29.
Daniels ran a meet record of 7.96 in the 60-meter hurdles at the annual HYP meet on Sunday afternoon. It was the first time in meet history a hurdler clocked a time under 8.00. His time of 7.96 is his fastest of the season and ranks him 41st nationally and fourth all-time at Princeton.
The Tigers won the HYP meet by 69.5 points over Harvard and 82 points over Yale.
Daniels has won every hurdle final he has been in this season. He clocked 8.14 for first place at the Metro Holiday Invitational, had the best time at the New Years Invite of 8.06 but did not run in the final, won the Towson Tiger Invitational at 8.00
Princeton will compete at the Villanova Wildcat Invitational at Ocean Breeze in Staten Island on Saturday afternoon.
