Eight Different Tigers Score As No. 14 Princeton Rolls To 11-1 Win Over Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Behind eight different goal scorers, the No. 14 Princeton Tigers defeated the Brown Bears, 11-1, at Goldberger Field on Saturday afternoon.

Princeton's 11 goals are tied for the second most in a single-game in program history. The team's 28 points in the contest are the fifth highest in a single-game ever.

Clara Roth and Julianna Tornetta snagged two goals and two assists each to lead Princeton. Taylor Nolan had two goals in the game, the first two of her career. Nine different players posted a point in the victory.

The Tigers finished the game with a 36-1 shot advantage and 9-0 lead in penalty corners. 15 different players took a shot for Princeton.

Roth got the scoring started just 77 seconds into the game as she scooped up a rebound off a corner and sent it into the cage. Several minutes later, Brown tied the contest as Katherine Kallergis deposited a shot through.

It took Roth just 90 seconds to answer as she, again, sent a rebound into the cage to make it 2-1.

After Sophia Tornetta got on the board, Princeton had three more tallies during a six-minute span to make the contest a 6-1 affair at halftime. Four of the Tigers' six goals in the first half came off a penalty corners.

Princeton piled on in the second half as Nolan dropped in her second collegiate tally in the 50th minute. Three minutes after, Julianna Tornetta got into the action as she spun around a defender and whipped in a backhanded shot. MaryKate Neff scored her sixth goal of the season in the 55th minute.

Julianna Tornetta added her second goal of meeting while Casey Swezey had her first collegiate goal to wrap up the scoring.

Princeton improved to 7-6 overall and 4-0 in the Ivy League while Brown drops to 1-11 this year and 0-4 in the conference. The Tigers has won 18 consecutive games vs. Brown. The Tigers continue their road trip at Northeastern tomorrow at 1 p.m.
