Men's Tennis Team Finishes Play at ITA Northeast Regional
October 21, 2017 | Men's Tennis
The ITA Northeast Regional is complete for the Princeton men's tennis team, as Kial Kaiser and Jimmy Wasserman bowed out in the round of 16 and Kaiser ended his singles run in the round of 32.
Cornell's 109th-ranked David Volfson defeated Kaiser 6-1, 7-6 to advance, and Harvard's Jean Thirouin and Andy Zhou beat Kaiser and Jimmy Wasserman 8-4 to move on.
"Kial played well in the second set and served for the set twice. It was unfortunate he couldn't force a third, but he showed some progress in areas he focused on in practice," Princeton coach Billy Pate said. "We need to get guys healthy and back on the court. We were hopeful some of those injured would be ready by regionals, but they weren't quite healthy enough to play. After next week's midterms, there are two more fall events where there be an opportunity for us to get more reps and finish the fall season on a positive note."
The Tigers will head to the Navy Invitational next Friday through Sunday before wrapping up the fall at the Lakewood Ranch Invitational in Florida the following weekend.
Updated draws are available here.
