EYE ON THE TIGERS
Princeton rebounded from a one-goal loss to Harvard in the ECAC opener with an 8-1 win over Dartmouth this past weekend. The games come after matching 2-2 ties with Providence in the season opening weekend on Oct. 20 & 21. Sophomore Carly Bullock leads the nation in goals per game, scoring six times in four games, and also has one assists. Junior Karlie Lund has six points on two goals and a team-high four assists. Five players have scored three points, helped by seven different goal scorers in the Dartmouth game Saturday. Sophomore Stephanie Neatby has a.938 save percentage and a 1.93 goals against average to go along with her 1-1-2 record. The Tigers are receiving votes in the national poll.
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
With a 7-1 record, Colgate is ranked No. 5 in the USCHO national poll. The Raiders most impressive win was a 4-3 overtime win over the defending national champions Clarkson last Friday in the ECAC opener in Potsdam. However, the team got tripped up by St. Lawrence the next day 3-1. The ECAC will be a true test for the Raiders, as their first six wins were against teams at .500 or lower (St. Cloud, Northeastern, Merychurst). Junior Jessie Eldridge leads the offense with 11 points on six goals and five assists. Freshman Malia Schneider has scored six times as well and adds nine assists. Senior Shelby Perry has a team-best eight assists. Eight other skaters have four or more points. Goalie Liz Auby has started in six games and has a .934 save percentage and a 1.33 GAA with three shutouts. Junior Julia Vandyk has played in two games and has made 51 saves on 55 shots.
THE PRINCETON/COLGATE SERIES
Princeton owns a 28-8-3 edge in the all-time series with Colgate, since the first meeting in 1980. The Tigers have won the last six meetings in the series with 7-2 and 5-1 wins last year. The last time the Raiders defeated the Tigers was on Feb. 21, 2014 a 1-0 win.
SCOUTING THE BIG RED
Cornell is 1-1 on the season after opening with a 3-1 win over St. Lawrence followed by a 6-0 loss to Clarkson this past weekend. The team is ranked No. 8 in this week's USCHO national poll. Sophomore defender Jaime Bourbonnais, sophomore Kristin O'Neill and senior Brianna Veerman each have two points. O'Neill and Bourbonnais were two of the top scorers last year, while the other top scorers have since graduated. Junior Marlene Boissonnault has two starts and 3.30 GAA and an .887 save percentage. Freshman Lindsay Browning played limited minutes in relief against the Golden Knights, allowing one on four shots.
THE PRINCETON/CORNELL SERIES
Princeton has a 44-34-4 edge in the series with Cornell, though the series is closer at Lynah Rink with the Tigers holding a slim 19-17-1 advantage. Last year in Ithaca the teams battled to a 1-1 tie following Cornell's 2-1 win at Hobey Baker Rink in November.
