Fencing Teams to Head to Vassar Sunday
November 30, 2017 | Men's Fencing, Women's Fencing
The second day of competition for the Princeton fencing teams will come Sunday when the Tigers head to Vassar for four dual matches against Sacred Heart, NYU, Penn State and the host Brewers.
Princeton also competed at Vassar for a day of duals in Dec. 2008 and 2012. It'll be Princeton's last competition before the Northwestern Invitational, hosted this year by Notre Dame, on the first weekend of February.
The schedule has Princeton against Sacred Heart at 10 a.m., NYU at 11 a.m., Penn State at noon and Vassar at 1:30 p.m.
Princeton opened its season nearly one month ago at Ohio State, battling Air Force, NJIT, Notre Dame and Ohio State on the men's side and Northwestern, Air Force, Cornell, Ohio State and Notre Dame on the women's for a combined five wins. The Tigers ended last season ranked third in the nation on the men's side and fifth on the women's while finishing fourth combined at the NCAA Championships. Princeton will be facing a ranked opponent this weekend in Penn State, which finished ranked fourth for the women and sixth for the men while taking seventh at the NCAAs.
