Check the links above with features on Bella Alarie, Courtney Banghart and an introduction to each class on the team. The first episode of the Court Report podcast with Banghart went live yesterday as well.
Â
In the meantime, here are five things to watch out for against the Colonials on Friday night…
- An Encore?
What more is there to say about the breathtaking freshman season of Bella Alarie? The Ivy accolades were numerous. Her name is all over the Princeton record book. She was recognized on a national level with a chance to play for USA Basketball. She was main cog for Princeton last season and helped guide the Tigers to a WNIT bid. How will her development help transcend the program?
 - Who's Getting A Bucket?
The Tigers have 30.7 percent of their offense from last year not returning this season while Leslie Robinson and Bella Alarie accounted for over 35 percent of the Tigers' points. Who will be some of the other offensive threats for Princeton in 2017-18? We'll get an early look vs. George Washington on Friday.
 - George Washington's Brianna Cummings
Don't let her 6.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game fool you, she's a defensive force, earning an Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Defensive Team selection. Last season she set career-high totals in both blocks (18) and steals (26) on one of the top defensive units in the conference. She had two blocks last year vs. Princeton while George Washington held the Tigers to 30.4 percent shooting.
 - You Get A Rebound, You Get A Rebound, Everyone Gets A Rebound!
This game will feature two of the best rebound teams in the country with Princeton placing 12th (43.3) and George Washington sitting 19th (42.6). Last year, Princeton went 14-8 in games where it outrebounded its opponent. Robinson and Alarie combined to lead the Tigers in rebounding 24 times in 2016-17. George Washington held a slight rebounding advantage in last season's contest, 40-38.
 - Lockdown Defense
Friday's meeting will also have two of the top defensive squads in the country. Tigers were among the nation's best in field goal percentage defense, scoring defense (28th, 57.2) and three-point field goal percentage defense (33rd, 28.3). George Washington was no slouch either as it placed 26th in scoring defense (57.1) and 37th in three-point field goal percentage defense (28.5).
