PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton Tigers continue their road trip as they head to Staten Island, N.Y. to take on the Wagner Seahawks at the Spiro Sports Center on Sunday afternoon.
Â
The game is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will be streamed on the NEC Front Row Network.
Â
Before we discuss the Wagner meeting, let's take one last look at the Rutgers game from Wednesday.
Â
Leslie Robinson: The senior captain had six points against the Scarlet Knights, adding four assists, four rebounds and a steal. It was the first time in five games that Robinson didn't score in double-figures. Robinson has raised her point average from 7.8 to 10.2 since back-to-back two-point outings last month.
Â
Princeton's Defense: Rutgers had success shooting the basketball, going 27-of-49 (55.1 percent) from the floor. The Scarlet Knights' shooting percentage was the highest by a Princeton opponent all season. Rutgers scored 14 straight points from the end of the third quarter to the start of the fourth frame to put the game away.
Â
Bella Alarie: The sophomore had a team-high 10 points along with six rebounds, two assists and two blocks. She has scored in double figures in every game this season except for one and 23 of her last 27 games.
Â
Tyler Scaife: The redshirt senior had a sparkling performance against Princeton with a game-high 24 points behind a 10-of-14 (71.4 percent) outing. It was her fourth straight 20+ point contest and the eighth of the season.
Â
Rutgers' Defense: Rutgers held Princeton to 19 baskets in the victory. It was the fifth straight time that the Scarlet Knights had held a team under 20 baskets.
Â
And now on to Wagner …
Â
Rebounds: The Seahawks rank as one of the worst teams in the country (340th) in rebounding (31.56). Princeton has won the rebounding margin in five of its nine games this season and have registered at least 32 boards in every contest this year.
Â
From Beyond The Arc: Wagner has made just 30 three-pointers in nine games this season. The Seahawks are 333rd in the country in three-pointers made (3.3) and 285th in three-point field goal percentage (26.8). Princeton has allowed teams to make four treys or less in seven of nine games this year.
Â
Wagner's Defense: Princeton's opponent on Sunday ranks near the bottom of Division I in scoring defense (259th, 69.4). The Seahawks have allowed 60 points or more seven times this year. Last year, Princeton broke three school records against Wagner in points (107), points in a quarter (34) and points in a half (60).
