Princeton Olympic Silver Medalist Kilbourne '03 to Bring Life to Paul Smiths Hockey

Just days after it was announced that former Princeton women's hockey player Dina (McCumber) Allen '07 was named to the 2018 Winter Olympics officiating crew, Paul Smiths College has announced Andrew Kilbourne-Hill '03 as its first Director of Hockey.
Kilbourne-Hill won a silver medal at the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake with Team USA, the first Princeton player to play in the Olympic Games. She was a two-time Patty Kazmaier Award candidate while at Princeton from 1999-03, earning four All-ECAC Hockey honors and ranks fifth all-time in scoring history. She was the first Princeton player to play in the Olympics.
Paul Smiths, the only four-year college in the Adirondacks announced on Friday, Dec. 1, the advent of women's hockey - along with announced Kilbourne-Hill as the Director of Hockey.
"I'm excited to help bring women's hockey to Paul Smith's College," said Kilbourne-Hill. "I see the addition of a women's hockey team at Paul Smith's as a win-win. It's a win for Paul Smith's College. Adding a women's hockey team will bring driven and motivated female students onto this beautiful campus."
"The addition of a women's hockey team is also a win for women's hockey in general. Collegiate hockey is competitive and many very good youth players aren't able to play at the college level. The Paul Smith's team will provide more opportunity for these players to continue to play the game they love."
The men's varsity hockey team moved to club status after the 2003 season with Kilbourne-Hill being asked to invigorate both programs.The team will hit the ice for the first time next fall. Its home rink will be the Saranac Lake Civic Center.
