It was a night for 10 and multiples of 10 in Jadwin Gym.
Senior Steven Cook became the 32nd player in program history to score 1,000 points and the Princeton men's basketball team won its 10th in a row Friday night in Jadwin, defeating Cornell 69-60.
Speaking of 1,000-point scorers, Friday night marked the return of another member of that club, with Brian Earl '99 making his Jadwin debut as Cornell's head coach after nine seasons of serving as an assistant under a pair of teammates, first Sydney Johnson '97 and then Mitch Henderson '98.
Princeton went on an 11-0 run to break away from a 14-13 Big Red lead with just more than eight minutes gone in the game, and though Princeton was up 10 at the break, the start of the second half belonged to Cornell. A 14-0 Big Red run that kept Princeton scoreless for five-plus minutes and put Cornell up four at 42-38 with 13-plus minutes to go, and although Cornell's lead was soon five at 45-40, it didn't grow past that.
The Tigers took the lead back at 49-47 on a Devin Cannady bucket inside of nine minutes to go in the game and never trailed again.
Cornell's Matt Morgan, the Ivy League's leading scorer on the season, posted a game-high 23 points and Spencer Weisz led three Tigers in double figures with 21, while Cannady and Myles Stephens added 14 points apiece.
Princeton will look for its 11th straight win, which would be its most in 18 years, Saturday at 6 p.m. when the Columbia Lions visit Jadwin Gym.
