Seniors Lizzie Bird and Katie Hanss took on the mile at the Fastrack National Invitational and both posted exceptional times. Bird was fifth at 4:44.38, the fastest time ran by a Tiger in the mile this season. Hanss was sixth with a PR of 4:44.40, as both times ranked in the top 60 nationally. Hanss ran a school record in the 1000 last week at 2:46.30. Sophomore Alie Fordyce also finished in the top 10 with a time of 4:50.06.
Sophomore Anna Jurew ran the fastest time by a Tiger in the 800 this season when she clocked 2:10.55. Senior Zoe Sims was 10th at 2:10.93 in her first time running the 800 this year.
In the 400, junior Quinn Parker was ninth in the 400 taking the lap in 57.79, a season best.
Junior Maia Craver and senior Elisa Steele went 9-10 in the 200 at 25.09 and 25.16, respectively.
Senior Alex Markovich and sophomore Allie Klimkiewicz both ran PRs in the 300, at 9:40.38 and 9:41.36 respectively.
In her first year taking part in the triple jump, sophomore Nnena Ibe has proven to be a solid contender. She was fourth overall with a mark of 11.51. Sydney Hausman was eighth with a jump of 11.24.
Senior Julia Ratcliffe was the runner-up in the weight throw with a toss of 18.17. Junior Kennedy O'Dell was third at 17.75. She followed up with a seventh place finish in the shot put at 12.75.
Senior Allison Harris won the pole vault invitational at 4.05, the only vaulter to get over four meters. In the college level event, junior Brittany Henderson tied for seventh with a clearance at 3.30.
The Tigers host the Princeton Invitational on Sunday, Feb 19, in the final meet before the Ivy League Heptagonals.
