Here are five notes to prepare yourself for this weekend's action…
Â
Taylor Brown – The senior point guard had a stellar weekend at Yale and Brown, averaging a team-best 13.5 points along with 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.0 steals on 45.8 percent shooting. Against Yale, Brown matched her career high with six made field goals and five assists. The next night, the Princeton co-captain registered 14 points, three rebounds and two more steals. She is currently on a streak of three straight double-figure scoring games for the second time this season. Â
Â
Bella Alarie – For third straight time, Alarie was honored as the Ivy League Rookie of the Week. It's the eighth time she's been bestowed the accolade, second most in Princeton history behind Niveen Rasheed's nine in 2010.
Â
The freshman had another stat-filling day vs. Yale as she scored 13 points in only 23 minutes of game action while adding four rebounds, four steals, three blocks and two assists in the Tigers' 22-point victory on Friday.
Â
On Saturday vs. Brown, the Bethesda, Md., native recorded her fifth double-double of the season, posting 12 points, 10 rebounds along with three more blocks and two steals. With her very next block, she will become the team's all-time freshman leader in blocks for a single season.
Â
Senior Day – Prior to the game vs. Cornell, the program will honor its three seniors, Taylor Brown, Jackie Reyneke and Vanessa Smith. The three members of the Princeton senior class enter the weekend with a record of 87 wins and 25 losses, including 43-7 in the Ivy League. They have been to 3 postseason tournaments including winning the program's first WNIT and NCAA Tournament games, won an Ivy League championship and at least 20 games in each of their first 3 years. The group was part of the 2015-16 team that became the first Ivy League squad to ever receive an at-large bid and the 2014-15 team that finished the regular season 30-0. Â
Â
Closing out Columbia – In the first meeting vs. Columbia, Princeton did an outstanding job in the first half, shutting down Camille Zimmerman, the Ivy League's leading scorer. Zimmerman was 2-of-10 from the floor in the first half with five points as the Tigers rolled out to a 38-16 advantage. Trailing by as many as 16 in the fourth quarter, the Lions closed within six before this block from Leslie Robinson helped seal the contest.
Â
The Tigers will look to match their offensive intensity for all four quarters to help score a sweep of Columbia this weekend.
Â
Megan LeDuc – The Cornell senior had an impressive game vs. Princeton earlier this year, going -of-11 (45 percent) from beyond the arc, scoring a game-high 20 points. The Tigers held the rest of the team to 0-of-10 from distance as Cornell went 5-of-21 (23.8 percent) in the game. This season, LeDuc is second on the squad in scoring (12.5) and leads the Ivy League in three-pointers made (49) and three-point shooting percentage (.426).
