Kentucky Defeats Women's Tennis Team to Close Road Trip
February 26, 2017 | Women's Tennis
Kentucky, the 43rd-ranked team in the nation by the ITA, took the first four points to be decided and finished off a 4-0 win over the Tigers Sunday afternoon in Lexington as Princeton split the weekend trip following Saturday's win at Xavier.
The Wildcats opened the match with a win from the nation's fifth-ranked doubles team of Aldila Sutijadi and Mami Adachi on court one against Nicole Klahorn and Katrine Steffensen before following that with a win on court three to claim the doubles point. Kentucky wins on courts three and two followed to get the Wildcats to the clincher, and Sutijadi, the nation's 13th-ranked singles player, completed a win against Steffensen on court one to get the clinching point.
The Tigers will head to Maryland for a March 5 match as the team's prep for the April 1 start of Ivy League play continues.
Order of finish: Doubles: 1, 3; Singles: 3, 2, 1
