Just one match is on the slate for the Princeton women's tennis team before the spring trip to California, and that match is set for Sunday at 43rd-ranked Maryland.
The Tigers (6-5) and Terps met nearly annually from 2003 through 2014, but Sunday's match will be the teams' first match since that 2014 contest in Jadwin Gym. Princeton has won the last two in the series, and Maryland's last win in the series came in Princeton's last visit to College Park in 2011.
Sunday's noon match will be Maryland's third of the weekend, with the Terps welcoming William & Mary Friday and returning Big Ten play Saturday against Iowa before the Tigers come to town. Maryland enters the weekend at 6-0 overall and 1-0 in the Big Ten with a win over Purdue, and the team's last match before the weekend was a win over Penn last Saturday.
Rookie Tiffany Chen enters the weekend as Princeton's wins leader on the season overall, with 12, and in dual matches, with five, including a 3-0 record on court three. Caroline Joyce and Nicole Kalhorn, the nation's 60th-ranked doubles pair, are 4-1 on the dual-match season, all on court one.
Following the Maryland match, Princeton will compete again March 20 at Cal State Northridge.
