The Spartans put together the game's first scoring chance in their first at-bat. Two walks and a single loaded the bases with one out, but Princeton's starter, James Proctor, got a pop up and ground out to end the threat. The Tigers had their first runner in scoring position in the second inning, but back-to-back ground outs completed the at-bat.
Princeton finally got the scoring started in the sixth inning. After a fielding error loaded the bases with two out, another error from the Spartans allowed yesterday's hero, Ramzi Haddad, to touch home. A RBI single from UNC Greensboro's Austin Embler tied the game in the bottom of the stanza.
The Spartans took the lead in the seventh inning with a three-spot. After a sacrifice fly gave the home team the lead, a two-run double from Michael Gross added insurance tallies. A two-run triple from Cesar Trejo in the eighth completed the scoring for the Spartans.
Proctor went six innings for the second straight start. He allowed one run and scattered four hits. Bryce Hensley went eight innings for the Spartans and struck out 13 in the win.
